I'm new to the boards. First off, let me say thank you for being here! I started a cross stitch design when I was about 13 years old. My mom LOVED to cross stitch and I thought I'd give it a whirl. She came down with terminal illness shortly thereafter and I dropped cross stitching needless to say.
17 years later, I saw a cross stitch design in Nintendo Power from Link's Awakening and I realized that video games and cross stitching were a natural fit. I found the Z is for Zelda stitch on here and thought that I would try that out for my first go. Below is my progress. I think I started back in late September of 2011 and I'm just now finishing up the bushes. Attached are 5 pictures of progress through February 29th, 2012 and I will post more pictures later on.
Anyway, thank you for the boards and I hope to be posting much more in the future!

I plan on framing it up and putting in the house. With little kids in the house, it will be good to teach them their alphabet the right way. :-)
My 3 1/2 year old already knows who Zelda is. You gotta teach them the basics up front. Reading, writing, arithmetic? That will come. Zelda = priority. :-)

AH, hahaha. That's awesome!
I am starting on a MASSIVE LTTP Title screen that johloh posted (
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=408&p=9388&hilit=title#p9388) which should keep me busy for while after I get the bushes finished on Z is for Zelda.

Couldn't agree more!
I think my 3 1/2 year old learns more from games than she does at nursery

too bad about the mis-stitching...
but it looks bad-ass!!
when it's all said and done, how long do you think it will have taken you to complete it?
