SuperKJ's works

Post by SuperKJ »

So I thought I'd start a thread where I can just share what I've been doing, rather than bombard people on my Facebook all the time. I'm not really in the habit of taking pictures of my progress even though it's very motivational for me.

I've got a couple of WIPs on the go at the moment, one of which is the Twisted Jasmine one. I had to put it to one side though because I need to order more threads...because that's what happens when you introduce your husband to cross stitching and give him access to the whole stash. :nod

So while that's on the back burner, I found, on a free cross stitch pattern website, patterns for the crests of the Hogwarts houses. I figured it might be fun for me because at my work we've been "sorted" into teams for incentives and stuff. I'm a Hufflepuff so that's what I began working on a couple of days ago. At the moment I'm doing everything but the yellow because I need to order it.

At this stage I'm just finding things I can be doing because I'm very limited in my choices. I broke my smaller needles so I can't work on a higher count, and I accidentally ordered the wrong count of Aida the other week but I'm trying to just embrace it and crack on. :P

Oh, and I thought I'd share what my husband is working on. I don't have a picture yet of his work so far (I swear he guards it with his life) but this is the picture. I got the pattern from here (obviously) and out of the patterns I had downloaded, this is what he chose. Well, it was either that or Disney princesses. He's doing a great job so far, he's almost completed the Thor section, done Iron Man's mask and the majority of the lettering.

I'm going to try and get a picture real soon so I can show you guys. :D

These are awesome, I can't wait to see how they turn out. Especially the Avengers.

Love your projects and can't wait to see a pic of your husband's project!

I ninja'ed in the other day and haven't had time to upload a picture because I've been way too busy with work. Fun times indeed. Anyway, here's my husband's WIP. :D

Since I took this picture the other day, he has actually done more than the picture shows. The only reason why whole sections aren't complete is because we're running low in our thread stash and I only got the chance to order more the other day.

I would put a picture of my progress but it isn't working. :( So I guess I will try again another time.

I have this habit of only coming on here sporadically because my work life can be pretty hectic at times, but I'm going to try and change that. (I work in a cinema, so with Star Wars coming out I have had virtually no free time.)

I haven't had as much time to stitch, regrettably, but my husband has been blazing along with his WIP. I haven't ninja'ed a picture yet but I will later. ;) I showed him the picture I took just over a month ago and he's amazed at his progress, which has motivated him nicely.

We both take our stitching everywhere with us, and do quite a lot of stitching in the library. My husband was approached by a lady who wants to buy the finished article for her son, which he is very excited about. I think he was at first, a little anxious about how people would receive him cross stitching, but he's had a lot of respect from strangers randomly coming up and asking him about what he is doing. So I think that this is a hobby for keeps. And I'm happy I taught him how to cross stitch, and I'm really proud of him.

I'll get the most recent picture up when I can. :D
