Finished Mario through the Ages

Funny backstory to this piece... it was my first large project ever and I started off with an excessively large piece of aida... and for some idiotic reason decided to trim it, but didn't measure properly and ended up cutting the cloth too short near the top, so I had to stitch two pieces of aida together (I'd already finished the whole water section by the time this happened so it was too late to abandon!)

It surprisingly held up and I did about 50% of this in the past 7 or 8 weeks. Still need to wash it and iron it and I'm a bit nervous to see what happens when I do that.

Pattern is Servotron's Mario through the Ages: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1556

*laugh* I did the same thing with one of my first large cross-stitch projects (a killer whale)! I think once you wash, iron and frame it, you won't even notice the fact you had to use two separate pieces of Aida. Great job!

That's awesome! Baby Mario in the bubble underwater made me giggle.

Very cool - nice work with the two pieces, looks like it should turn out fine. I forgot to add a border around one of the first large pieces I did, which made it very difficult to frame!

It looks great! Nice job with the two pieces of Aida, I had to look at it again to really notice it.

That sounds like something I would do! It's nice to know that the project can be saved.

I love all of the different iterations of Mario! :)
