Starting the Epic all gen pokemon embroidery.

Post by Paige712 »

Hi everyone I'm new here but have been cross stitching for years and have decided to try tackle a really big project. The Epic All gen pokemon sprite stitch shown in the pattern section.

Size wise I've gone with a 25 count linen so I will be able to fit it into a single piece.

The size is 34 by 40 inches or so and consists of 442 different colours. I thought when designing the pattern on pcstitch this is something that I should go all out on and not skimp on any details.

I've just ordered my linen so once it arrives I will start posting my progression on the piece.

This is page 1. Image

Until then bye :)

Thankyou Samarin :). Yeah I just saw your thread wow!! Looks amazing! Yeah I prefer to work from the top end which unfortunately means all the stars first lol. How many colors are you using? And what stitch count?

im working on 18 ct, it will be about 4 feet by 5 feet when its done. the pattern is split into 4 separate files for kg chart, so the one im working on now is 110 colors, but i imagine that most of those colors will be used in all 4 patterns. figure maybe 150 - 170 total for the whole project. i am definitely investing in a cone of 310 once i run out of my 310 i bought on sale last year.

Yeah for mine my 310 stitch count is 95000 out of 798000 lol. Just a few hehe. God I envy you mine's over 400 colours with 78 on the first page  Thank god I already have most of them.

Oh wow I thought bout 18 but the size was abit difficult to work with material and frame wise so I went for 25 which is just small enough to fit on one piece lol.
How will you go about joining the pieces?

I am leaving 5 columns unstitched between the left and right panels. The top panel i will cut to only 5 stitches worth of material left on the joining edge. Place that panel on top of the other one and stitch through both pieces at once. I tested it on small fabric pieces, it will take forever, but not really noticeable.

Ah ok yeah that's a good idea. I doubt that would be noticable. Keep up the great work k :).
