Sprite Stitch Board!

Hi everyone!

As a newbie here, I thought the best way to introduce myself would be to share what I've been working on lately. I found this forum last month when I went looking for something Professor Layton-related to make for my mother this Christmas. She's never played video games before, but when I brought my DS over during a visit a couple years ago, she got hooked! I'm proud of her for trying something new at her stage of life. So when I found monkeypeaches' Layton Portrait pattern I got really excited, added a quote from Layton to the design, and stitched it right away! I think she's going to love it. Thanks for a great pattern, monkeypeaches!
I also just finished some "blackwork" squares that I'm turning into refrigerator magnets as thank you gifts for my pastoral staff at my church. Its not video-game related, but I'm discovering that I really enjoy blackwork/redwork/bluework/call it whatever you want.
Next on the list, a Luffy pattern from joanappm and then I will be trying one of the massive Zelda Stained Glass patterns as my first journey into petite point!

I really like those colorwork pieces! And the 'z's in the Layton quotation. I mean the whole thing is good, but I love a funky 'z'.

Hi and thank you! I'm really starting to get hooked on blackwork, you can create amazing textures and designs with it without a steep learning curve. If I manage to learn a bit more about how to design patterns myself (its my lack of drawing ability that's killing me, not my ability to learn computers), I want to try and make some with it incorporated.
