After years of looking at
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=272 this pattern and finishing the epic pokemon pattern, I finally started on this! I love Zelda-games so I had to do this...
I decided yesterday that I would start now (in stead of waiting for my other cross stitch project to finish, I'll do that another time

) and go block by block of 10x10 stitches... Every time I finish a block I make a progress photo so in the end I'm hoping to have a nice timelapse movie! I tried stitching with a GoPro-camera on my head, making a photo every minute, but that didn't work....
So off I go! Finished 4 blocks last night:

I've thought of doing the same thing! I cannot wait to see the video when you're finished. I have been thinking for a while that it would be so cool to see a complete stitch in a time lapse. Thanks for trying out the GoPro thing already, because that was my plan. Would it maybe work to have a camera set up to look kind of over your shoulder if you stitch in the same spot each time?
I'm so impressed with your self control to just do a box at a time. I always get so into stitching a certain color that I hop around all over the place with a color at a time. Usually whatever color is calling to me at the moment. Your stitching looks so much more organized! Those threads that you bring up from the back, do you place them where the next stitch in that color will be, or just space them out so they don't get in the way?

My husband had the same idea about placing the camera over my shoulder, but the problem was with my hands being in front of the fabric/stitchings on almost all the photo's, so placing the camera somewhere else won't fix that... I don't work with a ring, maybe that would work better...
And the blocks are purely for my own selfcontrol... Without them I also go all over the place

This way I have a nice boundry for stitching and timer when to take a picture. The threads are in the beginning of the new stitch, so I will know where to start for that color and to know which color it is

Oh yeah, I see how your hands would be a problem. If it's taking a picture every minute automatically then you won't always be able to get your hands out of the way in time.
I just noticed that your location is close-ish to a good friend of mine! She lives in Vleuten. I used to live further away in Breda. Not important, I just found it interesting.

Well, I feel super dumb for the fact that this idea never occurred to me. But yay, I learned something new! I always wondered how people who stitch with multiple colours at once keep the colours straight. Now that I know this trick I'm going to have to try it.

That seems a good way to control your project. You can eve try to do a least one square everyday

Thats cool, that's pretty close indeed!
ANd yeah, when I tried I had 10 blurry photo's of my hand with my farbic in the background... didn't work

Got 2 more blocks done last night... I'm trying to do at least 1 a day, and will be taking this with me on holiday soon, so hopefully I can get a lot done!
Clarington, don't feel dumb, I never used this method before... I had seen it elsewhere, but wanted to try now. This way, I won't have to cut the threads at the end of the block and by putting them in the next right spot, I can still see which color it is. So far it works fine.

I'm going to try this method on my Epic Pokémon, because now, I'm all over the place. I need to get organised
And good luck on the Light World (I need to finish that one too someday)
