I've seen that done before with washable marker, what made you choose to use thread for your grids instead?

I, like Countingpulses, use thread grids on my large projects. For me it's because there's no chance of it fading before you're finished or causing discolouration when you try to wash it out. Some of the washable pens can leave a residue after washing which becomes visible again after time.
