Lost stitchings/weird happenings..?

A couple of months ago, I had some spare time to start finishing up my Portrait of Yoko Littner from TTGL, and I looked ALL over the apartment and couldn't find her! I swear, almost every day for about 3 weeks, my husband and I ransacked our apartment, and she had disappeared. And then, one day, I was looking for a purse because tea spilled all over my Vynalmation backpack, and low and behold, there she was under my Jack Skellington purse!

This just proves my theory that whenever I am looking for something, it runs away. And when I am in least need of it, it shows up.
Has anything like that ever happened to you guys before?
(and no, sadly I'm still not finished with her. I just can't get her highlight color right TT-TT)

Happens far too often for my liking!
I think the strangest one I've had happen yet, though, was a lost cookbook that was never found. My husband and I searched our entire apartment (a small one bedroom, so it wasn't that hard.) and never found it. We even ended up moving, packed up the whole apartment, and never found it. It literally disappeared. Luckily, I replaced it. I'm still vexed that it left my house somehow and I have no idea where it went!

I lose clothes...a lot! And it's not even like a misplaced sock or something, I lose complete outfits! I'm still devastated over losing a Foo Fighter shirt I got when I went to one of their concerts last year. I have searched everywhere for it and can't explain how I lost it short of assuming someone ran through my yeard and ripped it off the clothesline!

I lost a shoe a few years ago, it was an awesome shoe. I think I only wore them once, and then moved, and it never turned up when we unpacked! I still am holding out hope it will show up under a bed or something... even though it's probably long gone. :'(

Of all the random things - I lost a 9x13 glass pan, and a wireless PS3 controller. We moved and they never showed up either.

Of all the things to lose, I lost something attached to my arm. I lost my clock on a festival for some reason and im glad the security guy gave it back to me because it wasn't the cheapest.

A few years ago I lost the key to the front door, in winter i noticed it and was a little bit panicked. In summer i found it in a pair of shorts i had worn during summer.

This may be more of an example of how scatterbrained I can be but..

I used to help run a linkshell (guild) in FFXI, and my job this particular evening was to keep track of who was supposed to get drops so I had a notebook and pen sitting in my lap. We used ventrilo to talk to each other a lot and this even was about a 3 hour long one. I was enjoying a couple of beers after work (I am not the drink to get drunk type at all and this night was no different, I was far from intoxicated) and suddenly my pen was missing. I couldn't find it ANYWHERE. I looked all over my room, pulled my chairs out, moved furniture, it wasn't stuck in my ponytail, all the while they were giving me places to look for it like the smart alecks they were. After a little while I gave up and found a different pen. Low and behold I went to get another beer a while later and it was IN THE FRIDGE. Apparently I subconsciously decided to pay the fridge for my beer. Now every time I lose anything at all the first place people tell me to look is in the fridge. That was a happy story of lost and found. But I lost a huge camo duffle bag in my apartment and even when I moved I didn't find it. I really liked that thing too. Plus I don't remember what exactly was in it :X

When hubby and I moved from our first apartment to our second, we lost about 6 jars of Smuckers grape jelly. There was a really good deal on it and we stocked up, but the remaining jars didn't make the move. All the rest of our stuff and our groceries did, but we never figured out what happened to the jelly.

I would be so heartbroken if I lost one of my books TT-TT They are like another part of my soul! (even if it was a cookbook, I'd still be miffed/upset with myself for losing it)
