Hi all
I know it's kind of a silly question but im surprised it isnt a topic already. (If their is I've missed it

)
I lost my job a few months ago and it has finally given me time to do things i never had the time to do, like read comics between looking for work.
I've tried reading on the train before but this is a normal commute in good 'ol London:
as you can see its impossible.
I haven't bought a comic in 10 years so i have a lot of catching up to do.
So i was wondering if anyone here reads comics or graphic novels and if so what are you currently reading and can you recommend any for others to read?
Also i will upload stitching stuff ive done over the last few months soon. I've forgotten to update here and on my blog for 3 months

I lived in London for a while, and in a weird way, I kind of miss the clusterf*ck of the tube. And the smell. It wasn't the best smell in the world, but I miss it. Anyhoo.......... Yes, I read comics & graphic novels. My husband and my 6 year old do too, even more so than me. We have this AWFUL old dining room table that I'm going to make into a comic table. We bought some back issues of our favorite comics, I'm going to tear out the pages and just rip interesting chunks out of them, and Mod-Podge them down, then seal with some kind of varnish. I really need to get off my butt and do the Mod-Podging, but I've never worked with the stuff before so I'm a little intimidated. Still though, nothing I do can make the table look any WORSE, and if it comes out like I envision it, we'll have a really neat one of a kind piece!

That sounds awesome!!!
Me and my girlfriend were saying about buying one of those huge black and white spiderman materwork books and pasting it onto a wall to make a feature wall outta it instead of using wallpaper.
you have to upload a picture if you make the table =)

Do you have a smartphone or tablet? My other half found he could read them on some app he's got even with the crazy commute.
Also- I recommend Deadpool as my new fav, and other than that I'm a real Top Cow *. I love their stuff even though I know plenty of people don't think its great.

I just finished Sailor V for the first time; now I need to go back and reread Sailor Moon. I used to read Gunm / Battle Angel Alita, but I dropped the New Order reboot after it got just a little too ridiculous. My six-year-old picks up Zelda manga whenever we go to the bookstore, so I get to read them when she's done.

You have to read Bone by Jeff Smith, it's about £22 on Amazon for the One Volume edition. Think Disney crossed with Lord of the Rings.

The only stuff I've really read is Vampire Knight and Death Note. That's about all i've had time for. But I've watched FMA, Bleach and quite a few other animes as my boyfriend loves them. He's heavily into Deadpool too - I even bought him Marvel Zombies volume 1 for his birthday

Bone is amazing. I always wanted to read the Mouseguard comics as well
I mostly read (and buy) webcomics. At the moment I am reading Looking for Group, Girl Genius, Dominic Deegan and I also bought Narbonic (though I'm not sure its still in print) and several individual panel ones like just online xkcd.

Ah, webcomics!
Sinfest started as smart urban sass comic, but lately has been exploring some beautiful, deep things. Any artist who namedrops Andrea Dworkin and bell hooks is okay in my book.
El Goonish Shive is... quirky. Compare the art in strip 1 to the current strip and you'll be amazed at the change. It's a bit of a nerdy niche comic which swerves into third-wave postmodernist territory.
Scary Go Round is what has convinced me to allow the British Isles to continue to exist. You should write the artist a thank-you letter.
Darths & Droids goes scene by scene through the Star Wars movies... as though it were a hilarious tabletop roleplaying game. Absolutely worth reading from strip one.
I used to read about fifty webcomics on a weekly basis; now it's down to those four plus a few which are too fringe for me to list. Getting a feminist awakening made me pare the list to the bone. Good webcomics are hard to find. :/

The closest comic shop to me is in the City (Perth) which is 3 hours away, so not as much as I'd like! I love Death Note, but it's weirdly hard to find here! When I do go looking again, I'll check out Bone too!
