Starry Sky

I don't know if anyone else has played/seen/read the Starry Sky series, but I really want a pattern of all 12 of the original boys. I found a good picture that should be fairly simple, but I'm still a noob at KG and would like some help please c:

I wasn't exactly sure how to resize it and did reduce the colors from like 256 to 50 (but it still doesn't look pattern-ready yet). Basically what I want is something that isn't really bigger than 9-10 inches and uses only the necessary colors (in other words, you can eliminate the background from each boys' square, but I'd like the text/stars to remain). I'm planning to do this on what I believe is 16 count Aida fabric.

Just a note- I found that when I reduced the colors, the red-haired one kind of loses his mouth, and the boy in the top row in the middle's hair looks a bit wonky...

What size fabric are you planning on using?

I believe I have 16 count Aida right now. If it's a bit big on 16 count though, I can easily buy 18 count.

It's a good start, but it still seems a little blurry. Is there anyway you could get some more detail back in?

The only way for me to get more detail into the picture would be to either increase the size of the picture or increase the count of the aida. I would probably increase the number of colours as well, because I think some of the detail is being lost there too.

I figured as much. Do whatever you need to, I don't mind if you add colors back either.
