Perhaps if a few of us UK folk emailed and said we were impressed by the idea, and asked if they had plans to do it in the UK they might consider doing it? I know there are a few people in my local knitting group that would love to give cross stitch a try.

Thats a great idea. Heres the website for dmc uk http://www.dmccreative.co.uk/. if you scroll to the bottom you can see a link for their facebook page. I've learned by putting stuff on their facebook pages they will respond to you. definitely try that. it does look like the site has a club dmc that has liek free patterns and stuff.

I've found that DMC only respond to you when they feel like it - had experience of being completely ignored on several occasions. (With the exception of their sales team, naturally.)
But it won't hurt to try, and if they don't do a mentoring program, we could always set up our own! ;)

EDIT: I'm already a member of the DMC club, so I may ask a few pertinent questions there too!

This is a really neat find!! I remember trying to teach a friend of mine to cross-stitch a few years back and this would have been perfect! Thanks for sharing - I just signed up too! :)

Thank you so much for posting this. Hopefully I can use it to get someone I know into making things instead of just telling me to make it for them and I can finally remove a large chunk of my to do list. :yahoo:

My wife has already told me she's going to be my first student

After that, we'll see where it goes.

This is so cool! Thank you for the tip. I just signed up. I wonder if they approve everyone who signs up?

I think so because it seems pretty quick to get to the next page.

I signed up as well, though I'm not sure who I'll be able to teach. My husband doesn't really wanna learn (he's more of the woodworker type) and my daughter is too young to do cross stitching on aida (though I'm going to help her with some plastic canvas ornaments this Christmas).

Just got my kits and pin today! I happened to be sitting with friends in the Student Centre when I got the package, so now I have my first students also! Yay!

Got mine today as well. I took some pictures to show what all you get. Now only to find someone to let me teach them...
