Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf
I am SO addicted to playing this that I kind of forgot to cross-stitch my charity square OOOPS.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf
I think part of my dissatisfaction is due to the times of day I play.
I work 8-5 so I can only play early in the morning (6-7 am) or at night (6-11pm). During those times many of the shops are closed preventing me from completing tasks.I.E. I can't sell anything early in the morning because ReTail is closed which means I can't collect items since my pockets fill up in like 2 minutes. At night I can sell things but I cannot modify my house or shop (unless I play early)... so basically the game has made playing so inconvenient that I get frustrated and bored with my limited options within about 10 minutes.
Sure it's cute and I can see why people like it, but parts of it are VERY poorly designed (small pocket size, not being able to set the hours of the stores, etc.)

I wonder, could you change the internal clock on your DS (it is for the DS right?) to a different time to access the stores?kuja.girl wrote:I think part of my dissatisfaction is due to the times of day I play.

I could but that has the potential to mess up other games and functions so I'd rather not. Good idea though!blackberrybear wrote:I wonder, could you change the internal clock on your DS (it is for the DS right?) to a different time to access the stores?

That's my problem recently - I've been so busy or not well during the day that I haven't been able to get anything done.kuja.girl wrote:I think part of my dissatisfaction is due to the times of day I play.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf
That's something they've met with this new game, why not enforce the early bird or night owl ordinance with Isabella? I have the night owl and Re-tail doesn't close until 2am, and other shops stay open until 10 or 11pm. Since expanding Nookling junction, their hours vary anyway. The first expansion I think they open from 7am until 5am, you can also sell items there, however not for as much as re-tail. I currently have Super T&T and they open from 9am until midnight. (night owl ordinance times). The post office is open 24/7 so you can easily pay off loans, send letters and download goodies at any time.kuja.girl wrote:I think part of my dissatisfaction is due to the times of day I play.

Nook's Homes is open under the Night Owl Ordinance from 10 am until Midnight. Use the locker in the train station or dressers/ wardrobes/ chest of drawers etc to store things in. Luckily my re-tail is right next to the train station so sometimes I stock up my locker full of stuff and sell it over the following days.
I agree with the pockets, I wish you could expand them, unlock extra pockets or something as you go along, likewise the box on the island... I also wish you can give your residents the option of expanding their homes...
ps. I just wanted to make sure you guys know I wasn't being angry etc for not liking it, each to their own of course, rather I was listing the things I loved about it

pps. That said, I am rather obsessed and loving the hell out of it, so if I get too much just nudge me and say "Calm down dear" and I'll do my best to shut up about it

Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf
we know ;) I'm glad you are enjoying it. But because of my... issues with the game, it took over a week to get the planning permit... so I have only JUST started being able to do anything more complex than catch bugs and stuff.QueenBex wrote:pps. It took me a while too, but I try to play when I've got a few minutes (which isn't that often at the minute) just to do a few things here and there.kuja.girl wrote:But because of my... issues with the game, it took over a week to get the planning permit... so I have only JUST started being able to do anything more complex than catch bugs and stuff.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf
With New Leaf, you can set the time within the game without changing your 3DS time. Whenever you're starting up the game, you can tell Isabelle that you need help with something first. Then, you can set the date and time in game without affecting your 3DS' internal clock at all (or your activity log and steps).kuja.girl wrote:I could but that has the potential to mess up other games and functions so I'd rather not.
