Thanks! Yours is also looking fantastic, great work on those colours!MeiTow wrote:Looking Good there Queen B.!
RMDC -> I'm going to assume you don't want my color choices...lol
Here's mine so far. Finished band 3 last night and started on the guitar hero band to keep the regular game/rhythm game theme going.I think I need to outline the symbols on the journey band.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
For anyone doing the Guitar Hero band, I would recommend backstitching with black around the white squares to make them stand out a bit more. Here's one side of mine:

is it me or has the 'R' and the 'S' on the Tetris pattern gone a bit strange?

Yes, they've lost the plot! Symbols everywhere!QueenBex wrote:is it me or has the 'R' and the 'S' on the Tetris pattern gone a bit strange?
Actually, I believe they are the marks for fractional stitches, probably to round off the letters a little. Make sense?

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Loving all the progress shots!
@Funky - I really like the space invader border, and it's so cool that your challenge piece works so well with your sampler!
@RMDC - I just simplified the Mario Kart band a little so that the shades were the same between Yoshi and Toad, but otherwise I left the colors the way they were for the main three bands. For the portal band I used 415, 317, 740, 3843, and 604.
I think I'm done with my border, just need to wash it and frame it now! I'm excited to see how it will look, I tried something completely new.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Funky -> So far I think we are the only two doing Guitar Hero and I might end up doing mine as well even though they are black because my other reverse colors are pretty dark. So maybe I'll outline in white.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
I haven't gotten it framed just yet, but I wanted to share anyhow! I tried a hardanger stitch where you cut out the horizontal threads then twist the vertical threads. (I put a piece of construction paper behind it so you can see what I mean.) Then I satin stitched little arrow pads in the corners.
I stitched up the characters from the Katamari band while I cleaned my sampler. I'm going to sew them back to back into a keychain.
