Baby Stuff - Mobile Crib

Post by apollony »

So, im gonna become a mom in a few months, and i want to make a pokemon crib mobile, just dont know how, i tried to look up didnt find anything, i think its gonna look weird if i use cross stiched pokemons, or not?
Can anyone help me with a few ideias.

I was doing the pokemon gen I for the baby's room, but then, tendinitis got me on the wrist, and for now, that project is paused. :(

Congratulations! :D
You could use amigurumi pokemon. Which is a lot easier said than done! I still haven't quite mastered the art of crochet...

Mobiles are hard things to get right, especially for newborns. Since they lie in the crib, the design should be facing them, also lots of black/white combos and primary colours are what catches their attention in the early months. Happy faces are also good too!

I don't think it would look weird with cross stitched Pokemon, as long as they are nice and bright and friendly looking. Also, I found with my daughter when she was a baby, that she liked the feel of cross stitch (babies are really tactile so it's fun to give them lots of different textures!) so maybe make it so you can remove the Pokemon for baby to hold later...although it will probably go straight into the mouth then :D

I hope that helps a bit but I will try and think of some alternatives if I can :D

OMG i have never seen amigurumi pokemon, looks awesome, im gonna look for some tutorial on how to make it, me and crochet have a bad story, i just cant do it, but i will try again. lolz

Btw, thanks for the tips, that helped a lot. I think im gonna stitch the crib setting first, then ill stitch the mobile, just one question, you say to put the cross stiched pokemons faced down, i just cant figured it out, i cut the edges and tie it to some ribbon?
sry for the trouble.

I think if you wanted to cross stitch them, you could do each design kind of like making a stuffed ornament and sew your ribbon through the back instead of the top so it would face downwards. Congrats on the baby!
