Crochet Video Game!

Hi All!
I made a crochet game as my game design undergrad's final project! Here are some pictures of the physical prototyping we did to figure out levels (crochet, of course!):

And here are some pictures of how some of the final levels can turn out (you can pick your yarn colors at any time while stitching):

After much playtesting we realized that 1-to-1 mapping of our prototypes to in-game levels were too long, so we sadly had to abstract them out.
The project was a year-long (3 quarters) project with a team of 6 people including myself. We mapped crochet actions (Yarn Over, Hook In, and Hook out) to actions on the Xbox 360 controller, and had players do them in specific orders to create stitches (chain stitch, single crochet, half double, and double crochet). We added a cute little story and characters to explain why the character was crocheting these objects XD.
Here is a snapshot of the help menu to help visualize the controls:

Here is the trailer video we made for the game at the end of the project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26K87ND8ZRw
And the game's website if you want to play it! (The game is 100% non-profit, free for people to use, hosted by the University of California, Santa Cruz): http://pattern.soe.ucsc.edu
Please let me know what you think! I'm constantly working to improve the game
. The target audience is anyone who might feel intimidated by the dexterity required to crochet, and introduces crochet concepts, stitches, and pattern ideas. Enjoy!
