Crochet Lace

Post by Mishatu »

So, I've been working on lace during classes (for various purposes, not the least of which is staying awake xD ). I've been debating on selling it on Etsy, but I'm not quite sure how much to sell it for. Would $5 per foot per tier be appropriate?

The image above is representative of the one-tier, two-tier, and three-tier lace, from top to bottom.

If I could have your input and suggestions, that would be fantastic. This is the only pattern I'm working on so far, but I do plan on getting more patterns later.

These are beautiful and really well made.
I like buying bits of lace and ribbon upon occasion and more often then not a metre is a good length to buy as a crafter otherwise I find its too short to use for much. Perhaps offer 2 foot lengths and 1 metre options?
As for price, you just have to do your homework, shop around look for averages, also take into account your material costs and factor in time and labour and come up with a price that covers everything but gives you a nice profit too and also be a good competitor with others offering similar products.

I'm another person who loves lengths of lace and ribbon (or pieces of material) and I absolutely think you should sell it! I'm not too sure about price but as Bex says, you should factor in the cost of your materials and time per metre or foot or whatever. Remember it is handmade so don't be afraid to charge what it's actually worth!
