Cross Stitch Program Help

Post by EshkaRose »

Greetings all!

I'm rather new to importing pics and making the pattern from it, but I've noticed a few things about KMstitch. Most of the colors are not the same.. especially grays / dark blues. It turns the dark blue into daaark green, etc. Luckily the overall stitch looks decent afterwards, but it's not the best thing when the sprite had a rather fair complexion turns out to be rather dusky / orangish.

Is there a program that is closer to the true colors of the imported pics or are there settings I can adjust? Bright colors I can guess myself, but these subtle shades always throw me off.

Help?

Thank you in advance for your help!

I've not used KMStitch, but I use KG Chart and it does similar things with regard to colors. Your best bet is to go through and actually compare to a website that has pictures of each color (I use everythingcrossstitch.com), and make sure the colors it is converting to are appropriate. If not, go through the pictures on the website and find the appropriate color and change the colors by hand. While it can get tedious if it's a LOT of the same color, it's better than having it be wrong. So eyeballing is your best bet in my opinion.
