X-stitch FAIL

Post by Siva »

I have my fair share of unfinished projects, as I'm sure most of us do. I was thinking it would be fun to see these failed or stored away projects and why they were never completed. Maybe this will even resurrect some! I'll go ahead and start with the most recent ones that I have decided to neglect!

I almost have my portal sign finished but the straight line to make the edge kept not being straight! I think I redid it 3 times before this went into my projects from hell box  (Also the lemonade thread is a bit loose)

I really like this one and I loved spending hours making the pattern (close to 80 hours), but in the process of starting this I discovered I don't enjoy cross stitch as much as I used to (when I was 11), I am much more of an embroidery gal now :D

Lastly is cthulhu, I really desperately want to finished this! But a symmetrical image on annoying fabric with the pattern fading is extremely difficult to deal with. I think I may rip out the unfinished half and just have half a cthulhu.

Okay, I definitely have to say something here. All 3 of these projects look AWESOME. Embroidery doesn't have to be perfectly straight; in a way that's what makes it look appealing and homemade. Your lemonade project looks fantastic. And you're so close to being done! And cthulhu looks gorgeous. Maybe it shouldn't be a symmetrical project? The real cthulhu isn't symmetrical. I know, I met him once.
You've got to finish the embroideries! :nod And the cross stitch, that's from Scott Pilgrim, right? The first evil x? It's pretty cool. You might be able to arrange a trade of some sort with someone who would want to finish it.
The point is, there is no fail here!

That's a very good idea!
