I've made an epic Shining Force II pattern that is 1/6th the epicness of my first attempt.

I based it off of a Final Fantasy Tactics image I had found where they darkened the portraits and put the sprites in the lower right corner of the portrait.

My problem is that KG-Chart and PC Stitch both have their pros and cons. KG Chart is amazing for blues but for greens and reds it fails hard. If I didn't darken the portraits, the colours would've been at about 90 or so... darkened it fell down to about 60 some odd colours.

I don't know what to do at this point. Whether to re-do the image with normal portraits (accidentally saved the PSD after darkening all of the portraits) or just keep it as is.
The final size is 44.5" x 20.75" at 18ct with a lowly 60 some odd colours.

Here's a demonstration of the differences in KGChart and PCStitch:

BY VOLCANON AND MITULA WHY DID I HAVE TO SEE THIS

I'd say you might have better luck with colours using the non-darkened portraits, but you'll still face problems with the colour choices of the programs. Having had experience with Shining Force in both KGChart and PCStitch, I can safely tell you both struggle to pick the right colours (I used a combo of their choices and eyeballing to get what I used).

Would love to see where this goes, though :D

When using the regular portraits in my other epic pattern KGStitch had NO problem picking the right colours.

*changes all of the portraits back*

Now my trouble will be finding 55"+ x 30" or so 18ct aida.

Someone needs to develop a tool to import colours from KGStitch into an app that automatically puts the needed thread in your shopping cart for various sites!!
