The Appreciation Thread
Share your appreciation for someone here. Be it someone on the forums, a friendly shop assisstant who natters about crafts with you, a family member who supports you. I know that when I really appreciate someone I want to shout it to the world and let everyone know about this fantastic person. Come here as many times as you like, whenever you really want to share even if its about the same person time and time again.
Whenever I wind thread onto bobbins I always remember teaching my brother how to do it, he really wanted to help as I was setting up my big Avengers project. Always such a precious moment for me, especially when he also griped about the winder not staying still!
He cares about my progress and always is excited to see what i've done. He visits me and sirs straight down in my stitching corner as I like to call it and picks up my latest project before singing my praises. He always insists on picking the next symbol for me to work on!
It matters to him, and if it matters to him then so do I, I matter. That is my big brother and I am thankful for him.

Awesome idea Queen. Your brother sounds like a sweet boy/guy!
My hubby supports me no matter what I do. He never says no, but sometimes says, how about when I get paid again... My son also likes seeing my projects come to life, especially the charity quilt squares, since they are all video games and he has video games on the brain lol. I can't believe that in a smidge over a month he will be 11. Anyway, I am thankful for them both as they love seeing what I am doing, even if my hubby doesn't quite understand everything about it.

Re: The Appreciation Thread
I listened to a woman in Holland do a radio show. She only did it on the weekend at night in Holland. She played old music from different decades. She had a chatroom. I enjoyed listening to her and seeing her on webcam. Her late husband started the radio show and they did it together and when he passed away she took over doing it herself. One of the woman named Cynthia in the chatroom committed about my cross stitch. I said I did patterns for people which were mostly on sprite stitch. The woman named Annie wanted to see if I could do a picture of her late husband. She sent me four pictures in email. I choose one to do. It took be a few months to do. I sent her some pictures of work in progress. She liked the cross stitch. I enjoyed doing it for her. She quit doing the radio show because of health. She started it up again lately but she hadn't done it in awhile. I have the picture of the cross stitch on my facebook page. Of couse I have my other cross stitches as well on there.

Re: The Appreciation Thread
I appreciate this forum community. I came from a family of perfectionists who were born organized. They loved me very much, but they didn't really understand my passion for crafting. They were very quick to point out any mistakes I made on my crafts and tell me that I couldn't possibly give a friend a homemade, imperfect gift. It wasn't until I started posting my stitchings on here that I started seeing genuine appreciation for the time and effort I spent working on each project. I love you guys!

A beautiful story, I'm glad cross stitch can bring us all together like this. It's amazing how much it means to peopledeborah wrote:I listened to a woman in Holland do a radio show. Re: The Appreciation Thread
I appreciate my local library - it's not the biggest, nor does it have lots of staff, but it's great to go in and see people giving up their precious time to help children learn to read. They hold events aimed at all ages, from small kids, teenagers, all the way through to the elderly. Classes on using eBay, historical society meetings, book groups, local artist presentations, local authors... I only went in today to see if they had any books with borders in, for the April SAL - and I've come out with 4 great looking craft books!

Re: The Appreciation Thread
Whenever I craft, I am very grateful to my mother. She taught me to sew, and most of my basic stitching as well and instilled in me the desire to explore things I enjoyed and a real value for handmade things. She always thought everything I did was perfect, which helped with all the mistakes along the way.

I'm grateful for my husband who puts up with me and buys me my supplies. I tend to go on something for awhile and then get bored and stop and he's always supportive!
I'm also grateful for this forum community because everyone here is wonderful and seeing all the great nerdy patterns has really gotten my cross stitching juices flowing again and kept them flowing for more than a month or so!
