Yes I agree, certainly for more than x amount of stitches. Could be useful as an added incentive to finish it too ;)

I really like Lividus' badge ideas, Certainly the pokemon one is perfect with the 'gotta stitch 'em all' although isn't there now 5 generations available to stitch, and what about the HUGE one that combines ALL generations?

Not sure about the Mario one, slightly plain in comparison.

How about a generic epic pattern badge too? Just so you don't have to keep creating new badges for the different stitches people might do in the future. I think epic pokemon and epic mario should be separate as they are so synonymous to the site.

Maybe have different levels of "Epic", like the pattern maker, etc?

I added up the stitch counts on Epic Mario, and it's 49,766. That's within 0.4% of 50,000; so maybe level 1 epic would be 50,000 (within 1%)

Each level could go up accordingly (level 2: within 1% of 100,000+; level 3, within 1% of 200,000+, level 4: within 1% of 400,000+; or whatever #s of stitches make sense)

This would put a single gen of epic pokemon at level 2 epic, and the all gens pokemon at OMG EPIC.

Thats a good idea, like the Epic badges. Not sure about the exclamation point in the last one though, seems a bit too busy if you know what I mean, what if you coloured the word differently instead like in gold perhaps?

Why not making only 3 versions and leave the last one out, but coloring the text in bronze, silver and gold.

funkymonkey, good thought on making the badges have levels! And to echo QueenBex, I like the idea of turn Iwan's badge text to the colors of bronze, silver, and gold!

I went back, and remembered Johloh saying that,
johloh wrote:I think it is a bit hard to read as text. I think using a single sprite would be the best way to do it as it matches more with the other badges than text saying epic.
So, with that in mind, I give you attempt number... one than 1!

I propose that we have badges for second place and maybe third for the challenges. Sometimes the votes are so close that it would be nice for the person who almost won to have a badge as well. Just throwing it out there. :)

That does make a lot of sense... I wonder if it would be retroactive though, and all the past 2nd/3rd place would get a badge?
