The Pokemon pattern that has been sold twice is Lord Libidan's from his Etsy store. So not available for free, but it does mean LL is out of pocket.kuja.girl wrote:I second that recommendation. Telling them that you have reported them to Etsy (or will) is kinda of the best you can do without getting your own lawyer. The other alternative to be leave feedback/comments on everything available saying "This is stolen work, please do not buy from this seller!"Eliste wrote:Please don't do that. You could get in real trouble for that. Threatening letters are fine, faking legal documents, not so much.
ALSO The Epic Pokemon pattern has been sold twice. If there was a way to I would contact the buyers with the information that the pattern was stolen (and available for free) and ask them to change their review of the seller. I don't know how to do this though.

Re: Pattern Theft
I couldn't report them because I don't have an Etsy account so I sent their shop url to Regretsy instead. Maybe we can shame them a little?

...and i've lost it again lol
Attempting Diamond Painting
Making like three crochet blankets at once #nolife
slowly amassing floss for the old-style Epic Pokemon

Re: Pattern Theft
I saw some patterns from here on the amazon kindle store of all places when I looked up cross stitch. The one that stuck out to me first was this one http://www.amazon.com/Zeldas-Stained-Ne ... oss+stitch and then i happened to see others that looked oddly familiar such as the disney horrors. I didnt go through all the patterns but I thought I would bring it to the forums attention.

Re: Pattern Theft
Well on searching what rogueprincess20 did, I came across several patterns that I know for a fact came from here, for example one that I'm pretty sure was one of the quilt squares. The Sam and Max one with the wanton destruction quote. And didn't someone here do all the NFL team logos? And that's only the first couple of pages of the search. They are all this "J.G" character.
What can we do right now? Is it ok for us to post a review on each pattern with a link to the Sprite Stitch original? Or can we take this directly to Amazon.com?

I would do both. I'm going to see what contact information I can find and send an email to amazon first.blackmageheart wrote:Well on searching what rogueprincess20 did, I came across several patterns that I know for a fact came from here, for example one that I'm pretty sure was one of the quilt squares. Re: Pattern Theft
I just spoke to a rep from Amazon, she got me to fill in one of the feedback forms at the bottom of the page. She also marked my account so that the Customer Service reps can see that we have talked about this issue. I would suggest that we do the following:
- Leave reviews letting people know that these are freely available elsewhere
- Leave feedback to Amazon so they know they are stolen (There may be a follow-up email from Amazon if they need more information.)
EDIT: Actually, I'm going to hold off posting reviews until they get back to me. Also, nobody leave links in the reviews to the actual patterns, it is against Amazon's terms and conditions.
