I agree. I find anything flashing/moving on a page of still text really irritatingI think flashing mario might be annoying as you scroll past it...

Re: List of Possible Forum Badges
So, with flashing and moving images out the window, we kinda have three options.
1 - Additions to the current list to incorporate new levels
2 - Total restructuring. But still arranged around the original levels
3 - Change the list completely, and name them something new. Different characters, maybe just names like 'old school member' 'retro gamer', etc.
What does everyone think? After we know which style list we want, we'll get johloh on side.

Re: List of Possible Forum Badges
I'd vote for 3. Not because of the super 2000+ rank, but because I like the idea of mixing up the sprites!

Re: List of Possible Forum Badges
I like the third option because of the mixup of game characters, but I do have one suggestion to offer. Maybe at the 2000+ level, we get to pick our own character? It could still say "retro member" or whatever, but that way it would reflect us and be sort of a reward for how long we've been here and how much we've participated.

Not possible I'm afraid. The rank image can only support the one image.LinkIsMyHomeboy wrote:I like the third option because of the mixup of game characters, but I do have one suggestion to offer. Nice idea though. I do like the idea of giving back...

Re: List of Possible Forum Badges
I like the 3rd option of having a variety of video game sprites! Also, I'm still a little confused on the various pattern maker badges.....can anyone elaborate? For instance, I have made about 4 requested patterns, and posted one of my own patterns to the general patterns forum as well. All of them are posted as PDFs. Do I get credit for all 5 of them toward the PDF maker badge, and also toward the Pattern Maker one? Or is there a distinction between pattern requests and non-requests? Hope that made sense

Oh. Darn. Too bad. I still like the third option best and I'd be fine with a Black MageLord Libidan wrote:Not possible I'm afraid. The rank image can only support the one image.

Yes, you do!monkeypeaches wrote:Do I get credit for all 5 of them toward the PDF maker badge
It's still based on requests, isn't it? I do think it should be all patterns though. Once the wiki has been caught up, we'll be able to see much better who needs what badge. Please bear with us just a while!monkeypeaches wrote:and also toward the Pattern Maker one?

Re: List of Possible Forum Badges
Thanks for the breakdown BMH!
Now what about turning someone elses .sth pattern that they post to the Pattern board into a pdf (if they didn't post it as a pdf), does that count towards the PDF maker badge?
