Quilting help?

When I wanted to learn how to quilt, a friend and I went through the local school board. The school board in Toronto (Canada), at least, offer evening classes for adults on a variety of topics and one of them happened to be about quilting. Throughout the few weeks of the class, we were able to finish almost all the squares we needed for our first quilt. I doubt I would have been able to learn otherwise. I've bought books since but more as refreshers and new ideas. Local quilting stores may also offer classes.
