PM PDF support

I tired to send a PDF to another user via PM today and I got this message when I tried to upload the file:
"The extension pdf is not allowed."
Is there a reason for this?
I need to send a pattern (based on original artwork that another user got permission for but needed help with the pattern) but there is no way for me to send her the pattern through the board without posting it to an open thread which in this case, may not be a good idea

I don't know why , but have you tried to zip it? Might work this way.

It does support zip...and not PDF - something seems wrong.

Aw man I forgot about this, it was one of the things that annoyed me previously!

I think it's just a case of an administrator allowing file types within the PM system - iirc you have to allow them separately from the main board extensions.
Get a PM to johloh, I'm sure he'll be able to do something when he can. But for now, just zip em!

yeah, I figured it's a setting on the board that just needs to be changed. Johloh's got a lot going on atm so I'll try to bug him about it later.
I just can't believe zip is ok but not pdf... I mean you can put ANYTHING in a zip file!
