NOV/DEC Challenge - Design a Logo

Post by johloh »

the site needs a logo...its needed one for 3 years now. Ive tried in the past to create a logo and never made anything I've liked :cray: ...its time for you all to fix that...

a couple reasons we'd like a logo...

-the upper left icon on the boards is kinda lame...I like dig dug, but it should be more site appropriate.
-we are making quilts in the near future for charity and would like to put a sprite stitch logo on it, but there is none.
-we've wanted to put out shirts, and if we had a cool logo it would sure help that process.

for the site and the quilts using trademarked imagery is no big deal...we're not selling anything so its ok. but, if youre trying to make a logo that can also be used for a shirt, it must not contain imagery such as a mario sprite...

no other restrictions on this, it can be a digital file, stitched, perler beaded, whatever....

If you win this you'll get two icons next to your name...you'll get the standard "Monthly Challenge Winner" Star, and a BONUS "Logo Designer" with your designed logo.

If I don't like the one that is chosen I reserve the right to not use it, but I doubt that will be a problem.

Deadline for voting is DECEMBER 31st! Happy Holidays! :D

And then made one that could go on t-shirts/anything we sell.

I went for simplistic after looking at the old logo. mr x stitch, a few members blogs, and a few other stitching sites...
I made them while you mentioned it in the charity blog. Should we also include the already made logos from the misc thread?

Inspired by Ellentje's design in the other thread and the blog banners, I came up with this while messing around in kg-chart. It's very simple, but I like simple.

I can't wait to see what other people come up with. With all of the creative people here, I'm sure there will be some great submissions.

I had some time so I figured I'd get a pattern together. The little sprite on the I is like Navi but a little different so should be ok there. :zelda
Great idea for a challenge!

Are you going to put up all of the options for voting in the middle of December?

I think he means the entries need to be in by then. Although with 7 in before it was meant to start, maybe bringing it forward might not be that bad an idea...

Don't see any reason to bring it forward just cos some clever peeps are early with entries :P Besides, I am counting on it being 31st, as I have my end-of-course assessment to start at the beginning of December and a million things to do in November so I scheduled some time to have a crack at it right after my course ends :D

I'm sorry for my early entry!!
I plan to stitch it too -- I hope anyways if my thumb gets better!!
I'm only able to stitch one needles worth per day right now-. I don't plan to push myself before I'm ready!!
