Quick question, the way I read the instructions, we're supposed to have a stitched frame, not a literal one, right? I'm asking because it could affect a lot of people's projects. I am stitching a frame on my portrait right now because I thought that's what we were supposed to do.

Here be the answer starrley.

Not making it a rule, but I do think it would add to the whole portrait thing in a good way! :D
I do think mad props to those that stitch their frames, because for me, that's some seriously tedious boring work there.

Thanks Miss Clawful!

It's fine either way, starrley. I've stitched a frame on my first project, for the lolz. My second, supposing I can get it finished in time, I will get a real frame for. So, yes - either is good! :D

YIkes, I need some help! I really want to use this picture for my portrait but it's proving extremely tough to clean up in KG Chart. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can make it so there aren't as many random stitches of colors? For instance, I want the shading on his neck to be one color, not 10! Is it just a lost cause?

Try using less colors Monkey. I put it in KG with 10 colors (it gave me 15 lol) and most of the shading/face area is big blotches of color with a different one here or there that you could probably clean up pretty easily.

I am planning on putting up another WIP as soon as I get this darn beard done. It's driving me crazy with all the color changes! It's making my backside look like crap.

I know how you feel. Oh my goodness. The change of colors, but they're all blue! Enough to make me go crazy. :tease:

I'm thinking I'll post a WIP sometime tomorrow when I have better lighting to take a picture.

Heh...just realized I put my post in the wrong thread. That was suppose to be in the charity quilt section. Oh well, I love looking at ya'lls portraits. I think this will be a hard vote, as usual. :)

If I had realized I would have cleaned it up more and combined colors. lol All of these colors are in my beard. I have about 4 of them left that I haven't used yet.

Thanks MeiTow! That definitely looks better and easier to clean up. However, I have since decided to do a different pattern that was a bit easier to work with, and will be saving Kanji for when I have more time. I actually spent about 3 hours cleaning up the pattern I'm using now because I couldn't imagine going through as many color changes as you are! That would take some serious patience that I just do not have. So I smoothed out a lot of my pattern and knocked it down from 25 colors to 15.
