Oh that is relieving! It makes me happy to know that it will truly be appreciated!~tnitnetny wrote:I found out today that one of the makers of a square is the one that won the quilt. That makes me so happy and makes it so much better!!! I was just afraid that whoever won it wouldn't understand the work we did. Now I know they definitely will appreciate it.

Any ideas when a list will be posted for next year's charity quilt? I'm really eager to get started.

I can't find a list of amounts raised per item but this is worth showing off:

2.9 Million raised in 2012 - that's freaking awesome.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
I think it's awesome that this community of gamers/crafters from all over the world can come together and make something for charity. Really shows the spirit of the boards, methinks.
Anywho, I would love to make a square for the next one.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
I will get it all set up today. I have been quilting non stop and super busy, but I will make time today. I know how excited everyone is.
Next year I will wait until January for our auction. I think it was a combination of a couple of things that didn't give it the attention it deserved. I will also look into how we can do an auction or raffle drawing that would be able to involve everyone around the world and not just the US. But that is how we improve, we make mistakes and learn from them.
We probably won't hear how much it raised at the dinner auction, but that is ok. The purpose is to give money to charity and make people smile. Mission accomplished.

Yeah a worldwide auction would be great if it's possible !
No idea at all of how much money the second quilt made, at the dinner auction ? Of course, mission accomplished, it's all right ! But I'm just curious (was it higher than last year's or not...) ?
