Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
I didn't have time last night to retake the pictures and probably won't have time tonight. So I will get the updated pictures done Monday or Tuesday.
I was thinking of using the same soft mustard yellow color I used last year. The quilt store still has it in stock. I really liked how it brought out all of the different colors and complemented them all.

It's a good neutral colour for a background, and isn't too hot or cold. A green colour would also be a good choice too I think.tnitnetny wrote:I didn't have time last night to retake the pictures and probably won't have time tonight. So I will get the updated pictures done Monday or Tuesday.

well if you were able to laugh Gamerwolff then it's all good, right?! :D
Fabric colors: I would love black (to make some of the brighter colors pop) but that's just me. A gray, darker red, or med-dark blue could also work. I personally am not a fan of "mustard" - not many people have bedroom colors that mustard works with : /

Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
We went through all of the colors last year and we definitely can't do anything dark. Some of the squares are dark and the dark colors look horrible.
Plus, these are not quilts for the bedroom. These are lap quilts, so they are meant for the living or family room. I may look at green, but I remember last year there weren't any good green fabrics I liked that looked good wit the squares.
The problem Kuja is we are not worrying about what will look good in someones house. We are worried about what will make every single square look good.

Besides math, this is why I am not a quilter ;) that said, I still am not a fan of "mustard" sorry.tnitnetny wrote:The problem Kuja is we are not worrying about what will look good in someones house. We are worried about what will make every single square look good.

Have you looked at last years quilt? That is the fabric I am referring to. I think you may be thinking of a deeper mustard color than what it actualy is. It is a pale, pretty color.

Yes I am referring to last year's quilt color. I don't like it BUT it worked really well with the squares from last year.tnitnetny wrote:Have you looked at last years quilt? BUT if it's what "ties it all together" then you should use it and not worry about my personal opinion. I'm only one person, and I happen to be an opinionated person, and there's a high chance that I just don't like the photo and would be fine with it in person :)

Re: Stitching for Charity 2012
Ok, I found some time after packing my car up for the convention.
Layout: Quilt 1 (hasn't changed)

Quilt 2 - updated

Let me know if any other changes should be made. I will put two options of fabric up next week if there aren't any more changes.
