Re: Planning ahead
Closer to the time, Bex. It doesn't start until April, but we'll be deciding on the theme well before that so that I can do all the preparations I need to do. And there's a challenge for March to think about too! I quite like the idea of the minimalist thing, I think it would work well for a one month challenge

Re: Planning ahead
I had an idea, I don't know if it has been done before but I thought I'd suggest it anyway.
Y'know the quote "It's Dangerous to go Alone, You Can Have This"? Why not have the old man there, and then ANY video game character and something pertinent to them. Like Mario with a fire flower (or any power-up), Samus with a weapon upgrade, Ash Ketchum (or Red) and a Pokeball/Pokemon, etc.

Re: Planning ahead
There's so many great ideas floating around here. Love the creativity of this group!
I've never participated in a swap as much as I'd love to, mostly because I don't want to be one of those people that doesn't complete it on time. Life has a habit of throwing me off balance pretty regularly lol Therefore my vote would go for alternating a stitch-a-long in there. Then if I don't finish I'm not letting anyone but myself down. So that's my 2 cents

Re: Planning ahead
I really like the idea ofa stitch along.
I had one idea (shocking, I know
) for a smaller scale swap - a card swap - it's pretty cheap to send cards, and we could stitch/bead/glitter the front.
Another idea, as far as a stitchalong goes is to go the way of someone I saw on twitter - they released a line of text - like 11258857 and the numbers represented a thread colour - so a mystery stitch, if that makes sense.

Working on:
Retro X & Y! - lost the pattern and fabric, but it's resurfaced
...and i've lost it again lol
Attempting Diamond Painting
Making like three crochet blankets at once #nolife
slowly amassing floss for the old-style Epic Pokemon

That's the kind of swap I might consider entering. Strict enough that whatever you do isn't going to be put to shame by the generosity and speediness of others.arkani wrote: I had one idea (shocking, I know) for a smaller scale swap - a card swap - it's pretty cheap to send cards, and we could stitch/bead/glitter the front.

I really like this idea! I work full-time & have two kids so this kind of project would be more manageable for me and still give me time to gamearkani wrote:I really like the idea ofa stitch along.

I had an idea, I don't know if it's been suggested yet but "Spoiler Alert" as a challenge. Stitching a scene or part of a scene that would be considered a spoiler alert. Examples would be the ending scene from a game, Aeris dying, Oddler becoming OddEye and such.

Re: Planning ahead
Some great ideas and I am making note of all of them!
About the card swap - do people think that would fit into a month-long thing or would it need to be longer?
And I'd like to poke you all for next month's challenge, which will start on Friday. I was keen to go with the minimalist idea, as it will be a one-month challenge and I think that would fit nicely, but of course your suggestions are welcome! Just make them quickly!
