Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
I hope that I have signed up right; I have added my name etc. to the list.
I am having problems making my pattern from this screenshot:
I tried following the quick tutorial on this thread, but it did not work very well...should I request a pattern?

Just keep stitching...

That screen shot is definitely too large for a square without losing a lost of the detail. I would suggest taking part of it or picking another scene.

JemmaJ, try using something like this:
There's no way around losing detail with such an image, but it can still turn out nice (trust me, I know all about using difficult images!)

Many thanks; you must have read my mind as that was the part of the image I was going for...you are wonderful blackmageheart!!!blackmageheart wrote:JemmaJ, try using something like this:

I have used coricamo.com to create the pattern:

What do you all think? Is it okay?

It's not easy to tell from the pattern how it will turn out when stitched but it looks ok to me.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
so i get my material all nice and cut and start to measure out my 6x6 area, and it turns out its 98x98, not 96x96. is that a deal breaker? i don't want to start stitching if its too far off from what tony needs. do i go 6x6 or 96x96?

Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
As I said in the post the most important thing is the 6' by 6' area. So if it is 98x98 then adjust your pattern to add two more rows and columns of stitches.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
thanks for the clarification! i just wanted to double check before i started stitching, wasn't sure if the extra rows on each side were going to throw everything out of wack.tnitnetny wrote:As I said in the post the most important thing is the 6' by 6' area. Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
Does anybody have suggestions on what brand I should use for fabric? My Michael's only carries loops n threads and I highly doubt that that fabric would measure correctly. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
