I don't know if they did yet Katdun. Lailaida hasn't seen that one yet, but I am sure she will next weekend. I have been out of town since you mailed them, but I am sure they are sitting at home waiting for me.

When I get home Tuesday I plan on getting started on all of the squares with washing, ironing, and then trimming. I will then give a final count of squares and post group pictures of ones I think should go together. We can then collectively decide on 1 or 2 quilts.

Has my square arrived? It was guaranteed to arrive by 3:00 pm today and the latest update from the online tracking shows that it left the Crofton post office at 9:00 am this morning. I really hope it got there but if it hasn't, at least I would get my money back for late delivery.

I just got home from my lovely 10 hour drive and I have squares!!

BMH - They look awesome as always
Shanoa - Kirby is cool in person
Katdun - They are even better in person, and thank you SOOO much for the contribution!
Silentmuse - It is here! Looks great

So as soon as I get a chance (probably not tonight, I haven't unpacked the car) I will wash the squares, dry them, iron them, and trim them. Then I will take a final count and take pictures and we can decide if we are doing one or two quilts.

I wanted to do one this year but I joined up too late to do so. I'm definitely signing up next year tho. Is it a bad thing if I'm already making patterns?

What?! So mine aren't there yet? But I shipped them on August 23rd and they told me it would take four business days! I'd check immediately with the tracking number, but the website is in Finnish and I'm not *that* fluent yet, so I'll have to ask a friend for help. This is so annoying! :banghead:

UPDATE: It turns out their postal service website is in English too. It says that the package left the country on August 24th, then it can't track it abroad. Not sure what happened on the US side of things.

YESSSSS! My squares got there in time! I was really starting to worry they wouldn't. I'll paypal you a donation towards your costs asap!

EDIT: Aelys, if they aren't there you should definitely contact the people that sent it (post office, etc) and see if you can get a refund, or something. If they told you 4 business days then it should really be there by now. Unless of course the famous US customs got hold of it...in which case I don't know what you can do about it.

This is exactly why I said especially if you are overseas it is REALLY important to send it out really early and make sure you have plenty of time. US customs could delay packages up to 2-3 weeks. I have sent packages to Canada that took almost a month when it should have taken a few days. Unless you use a company like Fedex and pay the really high prices for fast shiping, there isn't a guarantee.

I am really sorry it didn't get here in time, but at least it can be used for next year. As soon as it does arrive, I will let you know.

So, the final count is 39 squares. That is enough for 2 quilts!! I will think of some layouts and post some ideas in a few hours.
