...Gamerwolf may get the BMH award this year but BMH gets the "crazy number of colors" award.

I made sure none of my patterns broke 50...

I think I got it last year, too. :P

I finished my last square today! I washed all three squares in cold water and put them on a towel to air-dry. When I went to check on them, I found this.... :cray:

One color of my DMC thread bled! I've never had that happen before. How can I fix that without ruining my stitching? Or *fingers crossed* will it not be too noticable in the finished quilt? I had hoped to put them in the mail tomorrow. Help please! :help:

 I have never had that happen before! I have no idea how you would fix that! Are you sure it was DMC?

Yeah I also have to ask if it was DMC? I have never had any DMC thread bleed like that!

Luckily, it will not be noticed in the final quilt. :D If you could, put a note on it (like I couldn't see if bled, but just in case) and I will wash it a few times just in case until I know it won't bleed anymore. We can't have it bleeding into the fabric of the quilt after it was made.

I gotta ask this too. I've also never had DMC thread bleed. I hope it's not one of those fake DMCs I see around sometimes.
The colour should come out of the aida in a few warm washes, I think. And by then it should be obvious if that thread is going to keep bleeding like that.

I don't buy anything but DMC, but maybe that bobbin was one I got from someone else. I know it was labeled with only a DMC number or I wouldn't have used it at all. /sigh. My mom is going to try Grandma's Stain Remover on it, and I'll try to rinse it again a few more times today. Will it hurt it to machine wash it in cold water with a color catcher sheet on a gentle cycle and just not put it in the dryer?

Definitely! I'm just glad it can be saved, it was a lot of work!
