Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Hey guys this is mi work. Now this is the first ever chart/pattern ive made, so im sorry if it looks off but i got the itea from a few google searchs. Its a lil longer then it should be. (95 across instead of 90 but if u take the 2block gap n make it 1 block it might work). Also the colour i had to work with didnt have a cream n white that looked different, and i didnt know how to add more colours. Also the redy brown on the second charc is meant to be browny grey colour but i didnt have one in the list. The black on the slim isnt meant to be there but it make you tell that there is white on the side of his head so to speak lol. I hope it looks ok for mi first attempt at a chart/pattern

This is great! I was just thinking earlier about how a Mario Paint one would be good!!Lileya wrote:I made one of Mario Paint! XD I used to play this game a lot as a kid, me and a childhood friend would spend countless hours goofing around with it. We still play it from time to time for old time's sake!

StarTropics sampler band. I did the pattern on "unbleached" aida so you could see the white stitches better. May end up changing it a bit, but we'll see.

Heh, I know what you mean! You wouldn't believe some of the things I "read" - stupid brain fills in blanks that aren't even there!kuja.girl wrote:I should learn to read what people write instead of the "translations" that sometimes occur in my head! (lol) thanks for calling me on that!

Man...you guys know how to make my life difficult don't you? But disagreeing is half the fun of life. A bit of debate adds spice to the proceedings! (Yes, I've got a strange Hat on today.)
So...here's another compromise idea. We can vote on a number of bands - how many will depend on the amount submitted I think - then out of the choices random ones will be selected. So it's a bit of choice and a bit of random. How does that strike people?
If nobody likes that idea, then my only other option is to split you into groups, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! Please discuss this some more!
And keep the bands coming, they are all wonderful

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Lileya, that Mario Paint band is perfect!
BMH, now I want it all three ways - voting, random, and groups. Maybe we could have a quantum stitch-a-long where at the end we collapse the probabilities and our samplers are the result of a sum over histories, a la a Feynman diagram?

I believe it's possible. I'll need a length of string, half a hole and some dribbly candles.RMDC wrote:BMH, now I want it all three ways - voting, random, and groups. Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
You could also do a certain number of bands chosen by random & then each of us could pick the last band individually. For example everyone would stitch the same bands for A, B & C but D would be "player's choice" so that our samplers would look the same but also different.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Thats sounds the perfect compromise BMH! We put in a poll of all the bands submitted then the top lets say 8/9 goes into the hat. That way its a heck of more likely to please everyone!
Who else agrees with this? *puts hand up*
Ps. All those bands look like you guys are using the same program, what is it?

Pps. I really love that startropics one, i'd be happy doing that even though i've never heard of it before. Which gaming platform is it on? The sampler is so good I really want to check the game out!
Love the pacman one too! And Dragon Quest one, no worries though I can see the bit around the slime.
