This is such an awesome project!! I'm so excited to see it's progress! The Chid's Play charity is one of my favorites out there and I'll definitely be donating to them again this year and if we do a project like this I would love to help out!

@tnitnetny I live in St. Mary's county if you need any help with the quilt or stitching. I've never done a quilt before but I can learn!

Well, the ironing, trimming, and sewing the outsides didn't take me as long as I thought. Guess what?

So I need opinions on shades for fabric. I am thinking a pale/light brown based fabric. More of a nuetral color.

I think white or black might be the best colours to use...

White is not going to be an option, that is the background color for the embroidery squares and white sashing would drown out next to those squares. Black would look nice also, but I am afraid it will mute all of the colors. The fabric is for sashing and borders, what goes between each of the squares and what goes around the outside and backside of the quilt. I want the squares to be the focus. Black may look fine, that is just what I am afraid of though.

I know I didn't get in on this project, but I was thinking black, too. All the colors in the squares look really vivid, so I think the black would be okay. Maybe it will make the colors stand out more rather than mute them? Plus, it's still a gender-neutral color. :D Just my opinion.

All the squares look amazing, BTW!

Holy crap, that's going to look cool!

What about a golden yellow color? It's gender neutral and compliments all of the squares.
