Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
I would think it nice if the sampler bands had some elements to them that were "new".
Meaning that they could have a blackwork background or satin stitches or maybe a technique thats rarely used, that would give it a more trad. sampler feel? And in addition give us oppertunity to try something new on a not so large project...

I think this is a great idea! And I agree with RMDC too. We shouldn't make it too big, since we only have one month to stitch it.celebriwen wrote:I would think it nice if the sampler bands had some elements to them that were "new".

Have the sizes been decided yet?

Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
I definitely think 4 bands should be plenty (one released each week). They should be small enough in dimension that we can get them stitched in a week. I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with because I really want to do this.

Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
Sorry for the wait, bit of a weird weekend! I've set up a new thread for the sampler event, early yes but I wanted to get a run up at it!
Discussion about the samplers should be carried on in the new thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12252
This thread will remain in use for now, as we still have to determine the theme of the colouring book and all that jazz.
Thanks everyone for your patience!

Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
I know people are going to be busy with the sampler thing, but I would like everyone to consider what they would like as a theme for the colouring book. If nobody can decide, then there'll either be something random, or a mixture of themes/games.
I don't like to insist but I do need to organise things in plenty of time and I'm already up to my Hat in busy!
Thank you all

Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
The suggestions so far, copied and pasted from their respective posts:
Me, I'm still down for Yoshi, Yoshi eggs, Pokerman eggs, or mushrooms - but powerups in general would be fun, and I definitely like Girl Power. But now, thinking about it further, Kirby and Original 150 Pogeymen are growing more attractive. Argh! How to decide?Legend of Zelda
Original 150 Pokemon
Indie Games
System specific (i.e. NES, PS2...)
Food (Not something like Cooking Mama where the game is based around food, but food in everyday games)
Powerups (any kind, not just Mushrooms)
Baddies
Girl Power (Only female characters in games)
Yoshi
Yoshi eggs
Pokemon eggs
Mario mushrooms
Kirby
Geeky sci-fi

Original 150 Pokemon
Kirby
Powerups
Girl Power
Those are my top four. Of course, I also wouldn't be upset if Zelda got chosen, either.

Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
Out of the ones currently up for discussion, I like:
Powerups
Girl Power
Original 150 Pokemon.
I am trying to come up with a new idea to toss in there, but so far I'm drawing a blank.

Re: Stitch-a-long theme?
I like the idea of using multiple games - like doing weapons of a few games or power ups etc...??
