And yesterday, it was another one of those wonderful weekends where my neighbors partied all night and woke me up like 20 times so I had to get up around 8am because they just wouldn't stop making a racket. Only the difference was, this time around, they apparantly beat the * out of each other and one of them ended up at the hospital... There was 2 police cars in front of our appartment building until late in the afternoon... I didn't feel like doing anything else than stitching after that wonderful experience!
Yeah... I can't wait to get the hell out of here...
I know exactly how you feel! (details in spoiler)
Spoiler
I made the mistake of moving into the "campus town" at my university. This also happens to be the university with the largest Greek system in the US, so there is massive partying and I'm just not used to it. There were molotov * in the parking lot last summer, an apartment in the building next door caught on fire because a dude was cooking a smoke bomb and it exploded. It scared his friend who then jumped out the 2nd story window at 3 am and started screaming... oh and at the apartment building on the otherside, 2 roommates got drunk and started fighting. One pulled a knife and the other pulled a gun and fired it at the wall... yeah *. Also there is a constant course of "chug chug chug" on warm nights and massive drunken sheanigans in the alley that my bedroom over looks... I can't wait to leave this!
co(ktails! co(ktail is not a dirty word sensorbot!!!
Holy crap......... Wow! My story sounds like light beer compared to yours... (It's an expression here!)
I was never a dorm person (nor a party person), and the way the school system works here, all universities are in big cities and are fairly equivalent and because I was already living in a big city, I just stayed with my mom the entire time I was in university. I can't imagine how I could have handled living like that for 3 years...
I really hope you get out of there ASAP...

I uploaded a WIP because I have one sprite finished! The banana peels!
18 ct aida, 43 colors total. I'm doing the four bands in a hoop, then transferring the sampler to a frame to work the bottom and the edge. I have at least 9 colors to buy so there will be holes until I can go get them (which should be in a week). So . . . yeah, not finishing this month, but well on my way. (And it's my birthday today so I'm chilling for now and stitching while my kids are at school!)
Happy Birthday and keep stitching M4pl3g1rl!
(P.S. I personally like the black on the robe so I'm glad you are keeping it!)

Well if I had come to this as an undergrad I think I would have lost it... luckily it was only a 2 year Master's program and I already have a job lined up somewhere else. I also got a duplex in a quiet neighborhood - no more campustown for me!
I just have to say...being compelled to continue to read this amusing triple conversation going on has been keeping me from working on my cross stitch.
Also, can someone explain this Journey band to me? What do the symbols mean? What is the picture about? We have boycotted Sony because of the horrible way they treated us with our Playstation 2 so we won't be getting a PS3 for me to play the game. lol

I was born in 1987.

Thanks, BMH.
Here are my bands. Still not sure what I'm doing about the border and for the words underneath, so that's unfinished. Debating if I want to do words of some kind or the alphabet as is common in many samplers. Just have to see what I have room for.
Close up of the Pokemon (5) band I did. I tweaked the pattern a bit (mainly on Charmander). I wanted him a bit more red than the original color, and I also thought that making his face all yellow looked a bit odd, so I shrunk that down to just a highlighted circle. I also didn't do the grey outline, as I only had one of the colors, and it looked weird doing half black and half grey, so I just made it all black.
