BMH, are you stitching on a glittery Aida, or does it just look that way?
Also, the spaces between your bands are so large! I can't wait to see what your border is going to be!
samarin, yours looks fantastic! I love that border.

I certainly am! It's yet more of my aida with lurex!starrley wrote:BMH, are you stitching on a glittery Aida, or does it just look that way?

Yeah, I really wanted to stretch it out, do something between the bands and stuff. When I figure out my border, that is!starrley wrote:Also, the spaces between your bands are so large! I can't wait to see what your border is going to be!
samarin, that looks awesome! Great job

That is perfect! I'm so excited, I'm definitely going to be using some of these other bands on their own!blackmageheart wrote:I will be making a ton of stuff available either tomorrow or Thursday - would that be alright? I need to make sure I've got all the files ready

Cool! Thursdays are a good crafty shopping day for me!blackmageheart wrote:I will be making a ton of stuff available either tomorrow or Thursday - would that be alright? I need to go shopping for supplies, and want to get them all in one trip. This is my first time participating in a stitch-a-long, and I've definitely been lurking up until now.![]()
Now I've finally finished my sisters birthday present (YEY!!), I can catch up tomorrow (if my eyes are ok by tomorrow that is after today)
Not sure how I'll decide my last band...

Btw, someone (I don't remember who now lol) was asking if they could substitute 740 for the 741...I'm using 741 on my charity square and I just posted a WIP that has it on there if you want to go look at it and compare your colors.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Got my third band done earlier today. Made some substitutions based on what I had and what I thought looked good. Subs after the pic.

Also, I'm trying to find a blackwork border that will work for my piece, but I didn't give myself much room between the bands (only 10 spaces). Does anyone know where I can find a border that would work. I did a Google search, but everything I found was too big and elaborate of what would fit between the bands. Never done blackwork before, so any help would be appreciated.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Before I decided to go with the controller-themed borders, I scraped up these simple blackwork/backstitch borders. The middle two use a cross-stitch in the middle of each pattern. You could use any color(s) you want; I just put two for variation but you could even use one color.

Re: APRIL Stitch-a-Long - Samplers
Thanks! I went ahead and took a chance and subbed anyway, figured if I didn't like it I could always tear it out... it looks just fine on my work. Not as smooth a gradient as the others, but I'm happy with it.MeiTow wrote:Btw, someone (I don't remember who now lol) was asking if they could substitute 740 for the 741...I'm using 741 on my charity square and I just posted a WIP that has it on there if you want to go look at it and compare your colors.
