I've got a not-stitching idea that I would like to try, but I don't know, with all of these stitchings I'm getting inspired!

I finally got my cloth and am ready to get started stitching!

So do you think a blueish gray sky (the color of the cloth) would be ok for a nativity scene?

Sounds like its going to be a big project. Wow!!

I'm half way through mine now. I've been having problems with headaches (think somethings going round) so slow progress.

You guys are getting to know me too well. :D

I am in fact making a mario brothers nativity scene. I absolutely love the photoshop job a friend made me. I realized the color of the fabric is perfect as I started the stitching. It looks like it is twilight. I made a lot of progress this weekend and just hope that I can get this done before Christmas. Not only do I want it done for the contest, but I want to hang it on my wall for the holidays.

wow, either lucky guess or obvious educated guess since I only think of baby characters are from Super Mario Bro series (Baby Mario, Baby Luigi ,etc).

Hay! So I've finally finished my challenge, so I can now tell you want I've been up too.

Well, here are the pictures....

Image

These little santas are from the game Daze before Christmas. I know what your thinking..what game is that??? Well...I don't know, lol, but it is a game and I found these sprites on one of the sprite boards (can't remember which).

Image

I stitch these onto 14 count plastic canvas with 3 strands of thread, I cut 8 pieces of silver thread to the same size and stitched them to the back and then I backed them with dark blue self sticking felt.
Finally I painstakingly cut round them leaving a 1 square gap all round (that bit hurt my hand).

Image

Here is a close up of one of them. There are 8 in total. I made 4 patterns then flipped to make 8.

I've shown them to my friends and family and they really like them. I'm really chuffed with the result. I think they will look great on the Christmas Tree. I can't wait until December now!!
