That sounds fair! I'm up for the coloring book idea.

Yeah, patterns from 3 different games, but no color charts so everyone picks their own colors.

Why not do a sampler pattern for the three top favorite games? If we did a band sampler pattern then we could all contribute something to the pattern, so it wouldn't rest on the heads of the top pattern makers here on SS. Then we are able to all contribute, participate, and make it personal. Someone would have to give us dimensions to work with, how wide, how tall, etc. and then we all mix and match then put our name on it like a real sampler. Like for example the bands could be 100 wide, and 30 tall for a skinny band, 100 wide and 50 tall for a medium, 100 wide and 70 tall for a large.

Just a thought.

I'm participating no matter what.

My top game votes are Pokemon, ToZ, and Metroid.

Three top games sounds great. Perfect, in fact.

I had actually thought to include samplers in the set of patterns! Uncoloured ones, though. But I do like your idea of a band sampler, and everyone contributing to it. I think that would make an awesome community project.

Suggestions:

Legend of Zelda (of course!)
Original 150 Pokemon
Indie Games
System specific (i.e. NES, PS2...)
Food (Not something like Cooking Mama where the game is based around food, but food in everyday games)
Powerups (any kind, not just Mushrooms)
Baddies
Girl Power (Only female characters in games)

I don't think I totally understand this idea. Do you mean that we would all contribute to make one giant pattern?

Zelda (I have no problem, at least I love the NES games)
Pokemon (uh, not that I don't like some of the little critters...but I'd pass most likely)
Indie (? - don't think I've ever played any)
System (way too limiting...but then maybe its just me since I limit myself to just one of them)
Food (sounds yummy and I already have some grand ideas for it)
Power-ups (common but perfect)
Baddies (we already did villains, but I guess these would be the lesser enemies, not boss types?)
Girl Power (all for it!)

I'm going to add one, thought of a little while ago while stitching my first minimalism project:

Video game character fashions (Only the outfits, accessories and such that a character wears, that's it. So the focus would be on the style of clothing that is worn by characters in the game world. Maybe not for a stitch-a-long, but it could be interesting to see what kind of fashions could be in a game world boutique, everyone contributing their very own outfits, but beyond that I hadn't fleshed out the idea fully.)

Not exactly. People could contribute a band and then those would be put up and everyone makes a sampler as big or as small as they'd like. Although one giant pattern would be cool ne? But it would be 3 patterns if it was 3 games. Gah, it's complicated to explain. Those numbers would be for a 18 count and smaller tho.

BMH, help?

Now that I've thought of an awesome way to do a blank canvas I'm really liking the idea of no color-sheet/coloring book. Not that I was against it before, just thought it would be more difficult for me not being creative enough. LOL!
