Sprite Stitch Board!

Been trying to figure out how to do a project of the attached image,( this is after going through pcstitch so colors come out fine). I figure the best way to do this one is with satin stitch, but I have never attempted to go off a pattern doing that. I only have pcstitch and as far as I can see that only does cross stitch. I'm thinking of tracing the edges of segments with a back stitch on evenweave and filling in, using the current cross stitch pattern as a guide, but I wanted to know if anyone knows of a satin pattern maker
