Sprite Stitch Board!

Today I got two awesome things in the mail: the PixelHobby stuff I ordered last week, and the Millennium frame I ordered back in JULY. Time to craft!

PixelHobby uses these awesome little rubbery "pixels" that you place with tweezers and press onto a pegboard. They are 10/inch, so half the size of perlers, and you don't have to iron them, you keep them mounted on the board. That does restrict the size of your pieces to the size of their boards (40 x 50 or combinations of that) or 11 x 14 keychain "medallions" like this one I just made:
The upside is there are ~300 colors, so it's almost like a combination of a cross-stitch palette with the quicker work of beads. So far I like it! I'll let you know after I've done something a bit bigger ^_^

So far, the colors don't seem to match precisely the ones on the manufacturer's website, which is a bit annoying. Close enough, though.

That looks awesome. Is it hard on the eyes? Expensive?

So far it's been easy and fun; not hard on the eyes. My tweezer-hand is getting a bit tired, as is the finger I press the pieces down with. But, in moderation, I'd say it's fine.

I was hesitant to try it because of how expensive people said it is, but it's actually cheaper than perler beads (per pixel) and if you add the cost of the baseplates, I would say its only marginally more expensive. The comparison of one baseplate being ~$7 as opposed to ~$3 for perler beads is each pixelhobby baseplate has 2000 pixels, instead of perler's 900.
