Y'know how there is just this one song that always seems to hit you like an arrow to the heart? Or is it just me? Anyway, the tin whistle/flute song from TNG: The Inner Light does that for me. There is just something in the melody that always seems to transport me away.

This is one of the best versions of it.

I know what you mean... Some songs I just can't listen to without feeling depressed afterwards... Not in a good way! When I'm down, I can't even listen to those songs! XD

The worst one would be that version of June Mermaid from Xenogears :

It's too saaaad!!! Thanks God there's a "cheery" part to the song though! XD
Current projects :

Other weird and wacky things that I felt I needed to share

Post by m4pl3g1rl »

Ok so I made a pledge to not get any fast food for the whole year. I had heard that doing so actually purges stuff out of your system so I thought I'd give it a try. However, last night my hubby and I were really wanting a burger. And instead of making ones ourselves, we went to get fast food.

It's official, we can't eat fast food anymore ever. Our bodies are now demanding higher caliber food. Which amuses me.

The reason? We both had the same reaction. Our bodies expelled the food as quickly as it could. I won't bother you with gory details. And no it wasn't food poisoning. My kids had the same food and they're fine.

But now I need to learn how to make sweet potato fries, because the ones at the store are too darn expensive.

So yeah, my intention to not eat any fast food this year is quickly becoming a goal not to eat any fast food ever. Unless I absolutely have no choice. Subway is still in though. Yay!

My husband and I had a similar experience on our anniversary trip last year. Ever since having my daughter, I don't leave the house much, ergo I don't eat a lot of fast food. I use to have it almost everyday for lunch when I was working. But I had her last February and I stopped working last January.

Fast forward to last September and we were traveling to a little cottage thing and needed some lunch. Stopped off at Burger King and ate it. It was pretty yummy, but we regretted it later. What's weird is that he doesn't even eat super healthy. He can eat pizza, taco stuff, and other not-so-good food (and practically no veggies or fruit) and be totally fine and skinny. Yet I have a sensitive stomach so I can't eat a lot of spicy or greasy things. Kind of like acid reflux but not really as I don't get heart burn, just a "sour stomach".

But there is a fast food place here in town that tastes a lot like BK, but a lot better (not healthier) and for some reason it's totally OK with our stomachs. Weird....

I sorta have such a song too, It's Happy by Tracy Chapman, it reminds me of sad events in my life so every time I hear it I almost feel them again and again

It doesn't make me cry, but I have weird reactions to songs by The Gaslight Anthem. Can't explain it in any rational way, but the songs do something to me...
