Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
Something happened to the little magnet storage thingie in which I store my needles. I found it on the floor with the cover shattered and some of the needles missing (fortunately most of them were in a baggie). Today I found one via my big toe. I actually heard it freaking go through my skin. So now my toe hurts and I'm pretty * off because I have an idea as to how it got broken.

That sucks!! I hope your toe heals up quick and you find the rest of your needles without anymore pain!

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
I've found felt difficult to work on, however swap for a slightly sharper needle and it will glide through.funkymonkey wrote:WASTE CANVAS IS THE WORST.
I thought i'd stitch a cute little tongue-out Yoshi on this felt phone case/purse
I think my fingers might go on strike and abandon my hands before I get this thing finished.
Edit: In all due fairness, it is probably the pouch I'm stitching on's fault and not the waste canvas. I also figured out if I wiggle the needle around before pulling it through, I don't have to pinch the needle so hard. Still... after I finish, not attempting this one again any time soon.Spoiler

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
When evenweave isn't so "even."
I'm stitching a pattern that's 78w x 86h; taller than it is wide. And yet, the stitched pieces is obviously WIDER than it is tall.
As far as can tell it must be because the threads in the evenweave are slightly thicker going across than up-and-down. Luckily it doesn't effect the overall piece so I'm going to finish it...
I'm just peeved because 1) this was an experimental piece,* 2) I've been wanting to stitch this pattern for years, 3) I didn't notice until I was about 1/4 of the way done.
*when It's done I'll be posting more about this.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
Forgive me for this rant as I'm a painfully introverted person normally but I've had a day where I just can't take it anymore and must relieve pressure before my migraine sets root for the rest of the week. Please skip the rest if you are easily offended.
Quite simply I wish people would stop torturing me like I'm an animal in a cage. It'd be so much easier if I just cut ties with my broken excuse for a family but stupidly even in another country I cling on to the dream that they might truly love me. But I know that's a lie. My mother frequently drinks and likes to remind me that she wanted to abort me. My father is wrapped up in his new wife's family and only contracts me when he wants something. My sister robs me. No one cared that my ex beat me daily and no one ever supported my hopes or dreams. I stupidly told my mother about being introduced to someone who invited me to submit my books to them. I can't even bring myself to type her response here. Writing is all I ever wanted to do. Growing up the other kids had games but I was sickly and had my books. I know I'll never get the love and recognition from my family that I crave but it's utterly f@#%! maddening that I can't let that white whale go. Icing on the cake today was after 3 weeks none of my beta readers have touched the story I sent them for review. It's literally a page and a half. I understand things come up but a little heads up would be nicer than several invites to play games on FB. I'm tired and so very heart broken...
Sorry about that. Everyone here's been lovely. I'm going to crawl under my rock and read now.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
*hugs* I'm sorry things have been so rough for you. My ex-fiance use to physically, sexually, and emotionally abuse me, so I know a little about that. I wish and pray the best for you in the future, and if you need to rant about anything to anyone, I'm all ears.

So sorry to hear about your abusive family Remy! I hope you can get things straightened out.
If you still need beta readers for your story, I would be happy to read what you have. If you're interested you can PM me the story here or I can PM you my email.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
Remy, so sorry to hear you've had some hard times. I can sympathise with a lot of what you said (different circumstances, but similar feelings etc.) Hope you are feeling a little better after your rant, though. And if you need another beta reader, let me know! I'm sure other SSers will be happy to help too.
@carand88 - Have you been able to get it back to fix it? I know I wouldn't be happy until I had done so!
