I played 999. I really liked it! more a choose your own adventure book than a game. it has a high replay value as there are 6 different endings If I remember correctly. The choices you make and the puzzles you solve affect which one you'll get, along with story progression. If you enjoy a good story and puzzles, you'll like it. If you're expecting action of any sort you'll be disappoint. Hard little game to find, but was able to grab it when I worked at Gamestop. I traded it for Tales of the Abyss, which I still haven't played. I do hope to play Zero Escape somedayRMDC wrote:Hi, I'm RMDC and I'm a Fire Emblem addict. Yep, fell off the wagon again. One day I'll have all the support conversations.
I'm mostly waiting for A Link Between Worlds. I also am considering getting the DS game 999. Has anyone here played it? What were your thoughts?
What games are you playing now, and why?

Re: What games are you playing now, and why?
Recent gaming:
- BigDaddyWiz, on your recommendation I picked up a (first printing!) copy of 999 at my FLGS. A bit more early-2000s horror movie than I expected, but ick-death aside the tense pacing was excellent. I'll probably go for the good ending after I've had more cooldown from it.
- My spouse and I got back into Skyrim. We picked up the Interesting NPCs mod hoping that it would revitalize the experience. Turns out that the mod writer is possibly even more of a misogynistic dirtbag than the Zenimax crew. Even so, some of the characters are great, and while the voice acting is occasionally spotty, a few of the actors really shine. Combined with the Live Another Life mod, it's just enough to put a new face on Skyrim.
- 3DS players, the Mega Man games are discounted on the eShop until Thursday. This is actually my first time owning a copy of MM3 and MM4. I've only played a little of both.
- My spouse was still too sick for either of us to get out of the house on release day, but as of yesterday we own TLoZ: A Link Between Worlds. I've played through two dungeons and have fallen for it so hard. It's a fine-tuned machine of love for anyone with fond memories of ALttP, though it also nods to other games in the series (especially with its fully orchestrated score with pieces from Ocarina and Wind Waker). One downside: my spouse has been on it literally since sunrise today. Her 2DS hasn't been in sleep mode at all. I've gone the whole day without a streetpass.
- And yes, I'm still on that Fire Emblem playthrough. I just need to get Lucina and Inigo together (sigh... the things I do to work toward a complete support log. Run, Lucina! Flee that fedora-wearing *!) and then I can try some of the super-hard DLC with my team.

Gonna wrap up Metro Last Light today if all goes according to plan. gotta take care of some snow shoveling and other adult like resposibilities first. Great, underappreciated, shooter series in my opinion. Good story, with an excellent pace. Opportunities to be stealthy or just run in like Rambo. I Highly reccomend this for anyone who likes a dark shooter(not so much horror like Dead Space just a dark atmosphere). I really want to play the new LoZ: Link Between Worlds but money is tight cause the holidays. I may have to Gamefly it. I havent touched my 3DS in probably 6 months+ and need a good game to respark my interest in it. Anyone play Luigis Mansion Dark Moon?
I understand the cooldown for 999 RMDC, it can be especially frustrating when you think youve done something different, then get a repeat ending.

I just love the Lego games!
As a collector of Lego as well, I find the video games simply amazing and they add another dimension to the whole experience!
My favourite by far is the Lego Lord of the Rings as it was the first game to add in dialogue from the films which made it hilarious and was great to see how they used the dialogue to different effects throughout the game! Cannot wait for the Hobbit one now!
I have just bought but have not yet played the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game but I am anticipating it being amazing.
I am also still in the progress of playing Pokemon X. I have all 8 gym badges but I'm yet to beat the Elite 4. As to the why I'm playing it... well, it's Pokemon!

Re: What games are you playing now, and why?
I finally buckled down and decided to start what I had been planning for about a year now so a couple of weeks ago I started my Legend of Zelda marathon, played in order of release date. Except it isn't really a marathon but oh well! I just finished the the original Legend of Zelda on Saturday so I'm now on Zelda II!
I just passed Parapa Palace and am working on the Swamp Temple as we speak. Both are being played on my GBA though. I timed it well actually, I found out when I went to go pick up my copy of Link Between Worlds that for preordering it I got Oracle of Seasons to download for free! It was honestly the only Zelda game I didn't have any copy of and now I actually own it.
That being said, I'm playing through all of them for selfish reasons. The only Zelda games I had completed up until Saturday had been Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and Phantom Hourglass so this is just me actually sitting down and finishing my games.

Re: What games are you playing now, and why?
Since the topic didnt specify video games I think this counts. My boyfriend and I are really into board games, currently we have been playing a lot of Eclipse, Dominion, Mage Knight, and Descent. These all definetly have a video game feel to them which is nice.
I love playing video games but i get so motion sick with new games that I normally just get to watch or listen to someone else play. I've recently watched Mass Effect 2, Tales of Xylia, and Bioshock Infinite.

Re: What games are you playing now, and why?
- Still playing Fire Emblem, natch.
- A Link Between Worlds is awesome. My spouse and I beat it fairly quickly. Now the girls are taking their turns. I'll start a Hero's Quest file pretty soon.
- When my spouse bought her 2DS, we both bought the expanded Mii Plaza games. I thought my favorites would be Mii Force and Warrior's Way and that Flower Town and Haunted Mansion would barely hold my attention, but it's turned out to be quite the opposite. Mii Force moves slowly and gets unnecessarily difficult unless you have several passes at once. And the final country in Warrior's Way is bull hockey. I'd have to use all my play coins for a month to amass an army big enough to tackle that mess. By contrast, Flower Town is fun and relaxing; I've already got 25 breeds and am cruising for more. Haunted Mansion is enough fun that I kinda wish it was a standalone game with more content.
- I picked up Final Fantasy VII again. Just got Vincent.

I just recieved Luigis Mansion: Dark Moon in the mail so time to dust off the old 3DS. I rarely use it anymore and havent done so in a good long while. I suppose I am just more of a console game player. However I cant deny that good games come on handhelds too. I have high hopes this will be one

Still playing Pokemon X when I get the chance, but have been playing Rayman origins with the bf lately. We've just fully completed it on his profile, there are some crazy, crazy levels and some really fun ones.
Currently attempting: Epic Pokemon Cross Stitch Gen I, M'aiq the Liar

GONE HOME IS ON SALE ON STEAM.
The one radical feminist lesbian game that's radical feminist lesbian enough for me to not punch myself in the face when I play it.
Why are you still here.
