Re: What do you do for work?
I would love to do surveys but it seems they never want someone like me taking them. Every time I try to do a survey for a site I get disqualified during the pre-survey questionnaire so I've pretty much given up on trying to get extra money that way.

I'm a member of Toluna too, but also several other survey sites. Other ones that I use regularly are Ipsos Access Panels, GlobalTestMarket/MySurvey (those two are the same company, this often is the case with some of them) and Valued Opinions (they are UK but may have an international version). The most popular choice of payment tends to be Amazon vouchers or PayPal, but they are adding more stuff all the time.rockinwithrammstein wrote:It's Toluna.com
This is often true for everyone, I think. A lot of times I don't get through either!MeiTow wrote:Every time I try to do a survey for a site I get disqualified during the pre-survey questionnaire

Lol I am offered a little over 20 a day but after the qualifying part of the survey, I MAYBE get 2 that I'm actually qualified for. That's on a good day lolMeiTow wrote:I would love to do surveys but it seems they never want someone like me taking them. Re: What do you do for work?
I am currently studying Engineering, majoring in renewable energy and mechatronics. Almost finished, just my honours thesis to go! For a while now I have been working in the evenings as a streetlight inspector, basically I get to drive around at night and write down the numbers of street lights that arn't working. It is a very low stress job, and very flexible timewise so works great with uni. I took a bit of an extended forced leave last semester when my motorscooter was stolen... but now I have a car and am able to work again.
I have also done a bit of work in childcare centres, mainly under 5's but some school holiday programs too. I am curently applying to teach english in Japan for a year, really hope I get in!

I work in a university library (I'm office staff, not a librarian), mostly with kids books and teacher eduxation resources.
I've worked in libraries of one type or another since high school.

Re: What do you do for work?
Everyone is so varied here. I love it. I've had loads of small jobs starting when I was around 14 working in a pizza place. Grocery store, a bunch of different pizza places, different areas on campus when I went to college. My biggest job was being the Marketing Coordinator for the U.S. division of one company. I have a degree in marketing, so that's what I should be doing, but when I moved to Ireland, I wasn't really able to find work. So at the moment I'm like a housewife without the marriage part and I crochet and knit for a small income so I can feel like I'm contributing financially a bit.
Also, I do surveys online sometimes too. I know what you are all saying about not getting through the pre-survey questions. 'We have reached our quota for your group.' Rather than getting cash though, the site I use gives gift cards for certain shops or pharmacies. It's really not a lot of extra income, but it's good to have every now and then. Especially when the gift card arrives just when you run out of money, haha.
What I really want to do is own my own little farm. I have this dream of having a lovely huge garden and a few animals. I really want to own sheep and learn to sheer them and spin my own wool. If I can't do that, doing marketing and PR for a museum, theatre or zoo would be brilliant as well. (Since my minor was arts administration.) For now I'll just keep knitting and crocheting and looking for any marketing stuff.

Re: What do you do for work?
I have worked a lot of retail mostly management but when they closed my last store I started working at an eye Dr. I basically screen the patients before he sees them. It's so much better than retail and i love the fact that I have the same schedule every day. I occasionally have to work a saturday for emergencies but its great.
I also have a second job. On saturdays a work at a local winery's store I just hang out for a few hours and sell wine it's very laid back I actually bring my stitching with me to do in between customers.

An update, I am now a 911 Dispatcher! I can stitch at work in between calls too. But alas, sometimes that doesn't happen working in a big city.
