I am a college student and I work at the University I attend. I am getting my degree in GIS and will be done and free this December At the University, I work as a research assistant, finding 5 micron zircon and baddeleyite for age dating. So, I stare at rocks alot through a microscope and try and fins really tiny grains. I end up feeling like this after work That is what I do and I love it 80% of the time
I am currently a housewife. I have only had a few jobs because I tend to stay with them.
McDonald's in high school (2.5 yrs)
Starbucks (4 years)
Blockbuster (2.5 yrs)
Comcast (9 months)
I've also had a few temp positions in there, but nothing of any substantial length. I went to school for medical assisting, but haven't been able to find a job using that. Luckily, my husband gets paid enough that I don't really NEED a job, but it would be nice if I could find something for some extra money.
I just started a new job working at Comcast (Don't worry about telling me that I work for the devil, everyone lets me know constantly) as a traffic coordinator - basically I do a lot of data entry and I schedule commercials for the Chicago area
While in college and since college I've had several 'interesting' jobs. I worked as a supervisor at an amusement parks in the ride operations department, I was an event planner at a presidential studies center, and I worked as a lab assistant (setting up tests) in a clinical microbiology lab.
i have a degree in biological engineering, i wanted to specialize in implants and medical equipment, but there were no jobs in canada when i graduated in '08. Now ive been out of school too long without experience in the field to ever get a job without going back to school. I've done a bunch of things in uni and since then, most notable, over nights in a corner store for a year, answered phones at a pizza call centre (year and a half), and most recently as a dietary aide at a nursing home (going on 2 years). And i am pretty much stuck there for life, the pay is too good to give up and go back to minimum wage no matter how crappy things can be. Luckily, I still like my job. Its mostly call ins, so i am always doing different shifts so there is a nice variety.

Oh, I didn't know that topic existed. It's fascinating to learn what everybody is doing!
I'm a Survey Methodologist at Statistics Canada. You're probably wondering what the hell is that... It's always a headache for me to explain my job... I guess you could say I'm a statistician, but I do very little data analysis. I have my degree in Maths (with specialization in Stats) and got the job right after finishing my bachelor. I literally had 2 weeks before finishing my last semester and starting my job. It's been 6 years now.
I wanted to work for a video game company in Montreal. I did one year in software engineering and failed miserably. I realized my dream job wasn't for me after all. My job really bores me some days, but it's still challenging (like 75% of the time...) and it's frankly a dream job. I really can't complain, even more since I find it really easy and there's almost no stress involve. And it pays really well too. Someday though, I really wish I kicked myself in the ass and stayed in engineering school... I envy people with passion for their job. My own fault I guess!
Current projects :
Out of commission after surgery until May.
Currently playing : Speed runs of Biohazard HD Remaster
Well, before I became a housewife, I was an assistant store manager at a McDonalds (believe it or not, I loved my job). I worked at two other restaurants previous to that.
Currently though, and I don't call this a job, I do surveys for money online. I get about 25 bucks a month is all, but that's enough for me to get a few Starbucks coffees, or something frivolous that I don't need. If I don't spend it by the time I get my next check, the rest of it goes into my kids 'college fund. Sometimes I make more, sometimes I don't make anything at all, but it's fun. Sometimes I get free stuff to test for companies which is really neat

I do this too! I don't get a lot either but it helps with paying for small stuff, food etc. I've had a few products to test too and that's the real fun part

This would be something I would be interested in doing. Do you guys have any suggestions as to how to do this without getting scammed? We could always use a bit of extra money around here.

I only know of one website, so it's the only one I use. It's Toluna.com...you probably won't get many surveys at first, but the longer you're with them, the more surveys they seem to send your way.
