Just finished beating Skyward Sword (again) and am trying to play Paper Mario: The thousand Year Door but it keeps freezing up on me. Think I need to consider getting a new disc (one that isn't so scratched).

Last night my weekly RPG group started into Masks of Nyarlathotep a Call of Cthulhu game (although we're using the Fate RPG system). Why? Cause it's what the only person who wanted to GM wanted to run and nobody had objections.

That sounds like fun Eliste. I miss my tabletop group.

Back in high school, my ex-boyfriend had a group of friends we would play D&D with. I don't remember it being too fun back then, but the guy who ran the group was a male genitalia who had a Napoleon complex, so that could have been why. Hubby recently purchased a D&D starter kit, but has been working so much OT at work that we haven't had a chance to get it set up and play it.

It can be a lot of fun but tool DMs can definitely drain the fun right out!LinkIsMyHomeboy wrote:Back in high school, my ex-boyfriend had a group of friends we would play D&D with. I really enjoyed the original BioShock. The plot twist was great, but the ending was a little lackluster. But I found Infinite to be so well-done, especially with the ending, that to me it surpassed the original easily.Kareesh wrote:My husband and I just got done with Bioshock Infinite. We played through the original Bioshock together when we were dating because neither one of us does creepy games very well. I'm not sure what to think about it. It definitely has a different feel than the original one. I think I like the original one a lot better for a variety of reasons.
For my birthday, I decided to buy myself a video game and downloaded Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage from the PSN. I had the original Spyro growing up, and never played any of the others. So I decided that this would be a good way to play them. Over half done and thoroughly enjoying myself.

I'm really lucky. We have 4 friends who come over every week for it. Convenient for me as I don't have to leave the house although theoretically I have to clean it. =\MeiTow wrote:That sounds like fun Eliste. I miss my tabletop group.
Hosting is so nice though. You can pretty much say no to people you don't like and it means I actually have social contact once a week. I'm enough of a hermit that wouldn't happen otherwise.

There's also a major move toward using Google+ hangouts for tabletop games, especially among members of the Old School Rennaisance, those who play the earlier editions of D&D and its derivative retroclones.
I had a weird idea - playing a board game by exchanging stitching. One person stitches her move, and then her opponent stitches his. But I can't think of any games where pieces are placed but not moved or removed afterward. If I could figure that out, then that's the game I'd be playing right now.

I can't abide google handouts. They drive me crazy and never show people when it should. Plus it means google knows what I'm up to and can't be doing that.
The stitching's a really cool idea. Does Go pick their pieces back up? Not that I know how to play it, but it seems like a cool game.

That was my first thought, too, having just read Scarlett Thomas's PopCo, but a little research reveals that pieces are removed when captured.Eliste wrote:The stitching's a really cool idea. Does Go pick their pieces back up? Not that I know how to play it, but it seems like a cool game.
