Re: Cookies
I made bacon chocolate chip cookies tonight and to bump them up just a bit more (as if they needed it) I found a recipe for brown sugar glaze and drizzled that on top. Sooooo good!

Re: Cookies
I made some choc chip cookies last night, and some black pepper cookies using Servotrons recipe - they're delicious! Apparently they're my bfs new favourite cookie, and I have to make them again soon

Re: Cookies
Here is my hubby's favorite cookie recipe.
Orange Cookies -
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. margarine, softened
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3 c. orange juice (we use the frozen concentrate, thawed)
In a large bowl, cream together sugar and margarine, add egg and beat well. Stir in lemon extract and vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Alternately add about 1/3 of the flour mixture and 1/2 buttermilk to the wet mixture and stir. Repeat. Mix in the last of the flour mixture and 1/3 cup of orange juice.
Drop by teaspoons on slightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Note: Let them get just a very little bit brown. They get too dry if they get brown. Touch the top of cookies with finger and as soon as the dough doesn't dent, they are done.
Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack. Frost when completely cooled.
Frosting -
1 lb. powder sugar
1/2 c. margarine, softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/4 c. orange juice
Beat ingredients together. Slowly add orange juice as mix to get spreading consistency.
Store in the freezer.

Re: Cookies
Does anyone have a go-to recipe for making iced biscuits?

Sweet... I see a game of tetris played with cookies now lol! Anyway, it sounds like what you want is a standard sugar cookie dough, with a pipable royal icing for lining and then flood filling the shapes. I don't have a good recipe for either one, but it should be relatively easy to find since there are recipe sites galore.

Re: Cookies
Did the Tetris cookies get made? I hope you'll post pictures!
I made another batch of the black pepper cookies yesterday, roughly 30. Went to a friends for a few hours, came back with 6 (there were only 5 of us there - guys love cookies it seems). These 6 were quickly devoured by friends in the pub. My work colleague is upset that I didn't have any left to bring in today! It's quickly becoming my go-to recipe.

Re: Cookies
Wow this is a mean thread J/K. Now I want to go make cookies lol but it's 3am and my mom is sleeping on my couch. So i have to find the recipe that my mom an I use for spritz cookies. It doesn't use eggs so we always make a double batch and eat half of it as just the dough. I know it was butter, flour, cream cheese. Lol and I don't remember the rest.

Re: Cookies
The recipe from the back of the box was just a basic ginger sugar cookie recipe. They spread a little bit so the shape was lost a bit too.lcockitt wrote:Did the Tetris cookies get made? I hope you'll post pictures!
