Oh cats! Slightly off topic - When i first got my first cat back in 2008, she seemed pretty mellow and didn't jump up on the desk or counter. So started stitching something, had all my thread colors out on the desk. Went to work for 8 hours, came home and found 20 bobbins all unrolled across my living room. So now that i have 3 little fur balls, no thread is left un-attended even for a nap or shower, everything is in a case when its not used.Firehawke wrote:My cat has decided to help with my stash a bit...she keeps getting into one of my open bins of yarn and keeps pulling out yarn balls. It's like she's saying "I'll help...this yarn wants to be my toy!" Thankfully, she doesn't touch my cross stitch (as long as she can lay on my lap while I'm stitching!).

Re: Stash
Stash!?! What stash!?! No you can't sit on the sofa, because of um non-stash related reasons... Sit on a chair? No, also due to similar, if not the same, non-stash reasons. No! Don't open that cupboard! Becuase because um Look! Theres a window! Go look through it! *desparately kicks random stash-looking items back under the bed* No you can't see my desk, I gave it away, anyway there's paperwork on it and the cats eaten it and... Problem!?! No no no, I don't see what gave you that idea... *cupboard bursts open covering self under a pile of stash* um, ignore this... Look! A door! Ok bye! Come back soon!! *collapses*

Re: Stash
I have tons of stash and not just cross stitch stash. Who has a problem, it certainly can't be me.
I just like to say I am a jack of all trades master of none.
I have a tub or two of yarn, one of roving but need another soon, a bin of cross stitch randoms, one with all my kits whether bought or put together by me, a few boxes with dividers that hold my bobbin wound thread, a metal tin that holds the ones not on bobbins, a tote of material for sewing and embroidery, a box with my cross stitch fabric and three, yes three, 10 yd by 30 inch bolts of white even weave that i got a killer deal on. Two sewing machines, used to be three, a 10 drawer cart for my beading, a 5 drawer bin thingy that holds my knitting and crochet tools and a box with roving specifically for needle felting. I also have some naalbinding needles and wood to make them plus two spinning wheels and a handful of spindles.
Wow thats a lot to actually write out and thats just my craft stuff. Luckily I have a fantastic husband who supports my addiction to hoarding craft supplies like they are the last ones on earth. I'll have to take a picture because some of the bin are rather large and its probably more then it sounds even. It takes up about half our basement right now but I drag out whatever craft I happen to be working on. That however does drive my husband nuts when my crafts get out of the basement.
